I'm having a day today. I've stayed on my antidepressant Zoloft through my pregnancy, and I just restarted Neurontin for my anxiety, my OB said it was fine. Now, my psychiatrist called and recommended Buspar instead of the Neurontin. He called a script in, apparently it's safer. Now, I'm worried about being on anything at all. I feel guilty. It's so frustrating. I want to enjoy my pregnancy, and my doctor told me not to try and be a hero, that they wouldn't prescribe me anything unsafe. I'm just wondering if any of you are going through something similar. I've also reached out on my birth month board.

Buspar is safe during pregnancy. Your psychiatrist is correct there. It will take awhile for it to get in your system, but long-term it's less risky for pregnancy and breastfeeding. It's a Category B medicine, which means no evidence of risk, whereas Neurontin is Category C, which means risk can't be ruled out.
And it's not that Neurontin isn't safe, it's just that there's a risk (just like with the Zoloft). I've known plenty of women to be on Zoloft during pregnancy and postpartum AND breastfeed. You'll be okay. Your OB wasn't wrong, but your psychiatrist isn't wrong either.
I understand how hard it must be elizabethnevadap, just try not to feel guilty or frustrated. Trust the doctors and stay away from Google (I tend to do this). As difficult as it may be, try to get involved in something, maybe prenatal yoga, book club, etc. Just try to get your mind off of everything until your medication regulates.
