So, G stays with my mom and step dad at least one night a month and several more tones daily. Long story short, the main vehicle they have is a 2 seater...they do have a truck but it's not always at the house. ..my question is...do you leave a carseat with the grandparents all the time or take it when you visit? I don't trust them to install so I'd have to install each time which is no biggie but I haven't done that in the past.

My parents have a car seat. It mostly stays in my mom's car (she just got a Homda CR-V). Sometimes they switch it to my dad's (Honda Accord), but I always have to do an inspection of the installation.
When we switched from the infant bucket to convertibles in our cars, my parents kept the bucket at their house. When Ev got too tall for the bucket, I bought an inexpensive convertible from Walmart for my parents. I installed it in their van and it stays in there most of the time.
I think it's easier to have one to leave there. That way I don't have to uninstall/reinstall the car seat from my car each time she's over there.
I won't let her ride in the 2 seater. So when it's just her and my mom they have no way too get anywhere. My stepdad lives 2 hours away but comes down every 3 weeks or so. Difficult situation lol. I think what I'll probably do is leave the seat there then when I drop her off I can install. It just stresses me out that if something were to happen, There's no way to get her anywhere besides ambulance....and I don't know what to do in the event something were to happen with no truck...#mommaworries

How far away are you usually? If the "something" that happened didn't warrant an ambulance ride, it's probably not so emergent that they couldn't wait a few minutes for you to get there...?
I'm sorry I tried replying earlier but the app wouldn't let me post. I will put the seat in the truck each time. And I'm usually within 30 minutes if there was truly an er. Thank you for calming my worries! I'm not sure if we have Uber...and my car is the only one we have really. DH has a work truck so we take mine everywhere.

We have three seats. One is in our truck and SUV and the other at my home just in case he leave. But i usually take out my seat and poor that one in the family car. Saves the hassle of hustling two seats if i have to pick him up.
