Putting twin babies down for naps with a toddler around?

I'm not as worried about the MOTN issues because DH is around and although he works he is great about jumping in when I'm struggling. I currently work part time, but will be a SAHM for the first 18 months or so after the twins are born. I also have a nearly 3 year old DS. DS will probably be dropping his nap by 3 (he's 2.5 now and probably only naps half the time). So moms with 3 (or more!) kids - how did you handle the nap time logistics with twins? With DS I would rock him to sleep for naps (I know, bad!!), so I'm curious with twins did you just carry them back to their room at the same time and plop them in the cribs and let them CIO? Did you rock them one at a time (if so what did you do with the other baby if you had a crazy toddler to deal with?)? I can't wrap my head around how all of this works logistically. Sorry if this is a dumb question. TIA!

And we had a lot of help at home in the beginning so we were very lucky that way.

I don't have any advice but I'm in the same boat - 3 yo DS and 13 week old b/g twins. Im also a SAHM. Im still putting them in their swings. Just yesterday we moved the swings back to their bedroom. It worked okay so we'll see...

I have 6month old twins and a 3.5yr old. Right now I put DD in the swing and nurse DS asleep on the couch. Then I take older DS upstairs and leave the babies to sleep downstairs. I just listen with the door open for when one wakes up.

At first the babies don't wake up with the noise so it wasn't an issue. They do now so I try to seperate them when the babies are sleeping.

Thankfully DD was in daycare for the first four months so we were able to establish a bit of a routine and pretty good sleep habits. Now I'm able to just put them in their crib and walk away most of the time. Of course it didn't start that way, but one thing I tried not to do was rock them or nurse them to sleep because I knew I couldn't always rock two babies to sleep, especially with a toddler around. I think people don't often give babies the benefit of the doubt- you may be surprised that they go down fairly easily (at least one anyway). From the beginning F was super easy- swaddle, "shhhh sleepy time", put down and fell asleep on his own. C took a bit more work, but if you don't assume they need to be rocked/nurses to sleep and you try to put them down awake from the beginning you may have more luck with a toddler around.

My DS napped in his room, if he napped (he quickly dropped his nap when they came home=all the sadz), and the twin just napped in their swings for the first couple months. They would NOT nap laying down, if they fell asleep on me and I tried to transfer them they would wake up, so I started putting them in their swings. After a few months I was able to lay them in a PNP in the living room. Currently they nap in the PNP, DS (3y old) runs around SCREAMING and SQUEALING at the top of his lungs and the girls sleep right through it. Now, if it's bedtime and I make a peep they wake up... but for whatever reason they sleep through all the daytime noises just fine. They're used to it.
