I want to get one, but I have stethoscopes so really it would be like 10 weeks that only a doppler will be able to pick it up and not a stethoscope so I'm hoping I can just hold out until then.
Who am I kidding, I'm probably gonna buy one this week....
I have a sonoline b fetal Doppler that I ised throughout my first pregnancy and will use again this time around.
I never had any issues with it, super easy to use and kept my worrying at bay. It was nice to have something on hand for those days with less movement or at any time that I may have been worried. I definitely recommend getting one!

I have the same and agree. It is super easy. Also, you may not hear a heartbeat and will feel scared, but you can still hear other sounds. For example, you can hear a random sound that will be baby kicking or hitting. You can hear the placenta pulsing. You can hear the swooshing of fluids.
I unfortunately had a late loss at 36 weeks and I was the one who found out because I had a Doppler. Every weekend I would check his heartbeat before bed and one night it just wasn't there. I tried searching for all the other sounds like I had many times before when I couldn't find the actual heartbeat and there were none. I don't mean for this to be a Debbie downer kind of story. He had many complications and we knew he had a very slim chance at surviving. There was nothing that could be done. Even with this loss, I still want my Doppler. It helps soooooo much once you can finally pick up the heartbeat. Plus it's fun to break out around the grandparents! Lol. Or little kids...they love to hear their own heartbeat!
I would say if you buy one wait until after a doctors appointment to use it. Wait until you have a confirmed heart beat and pay attention to where the doctor put it.
It's really hard the earlier you try because baby still has room to float around plus the heart is really tiny. And it's usually still under or near your pubic bone so you sometimes have to push around that fat pouch thingy...lol.. Or at least I have too.
I never really know where to look. I just roll it around until I find it. Usually within 5 minutes...

I've rented dopplers for my past 2 pregnancies, and was able to hear the heatbeat by about 9 weeks each time.
To be more money-minded this time, I was thinking about buying a Sonoline B, then re-selling it afterwards. I'm just wondering it it will work as well as the rentals.

I've never tried a rental but the sonoline b I bought is the exact one my doctor uses so it can't be too shabby. Lol.

I second the Sonoline B for the same reasons above.
I'll warn ya though....you may not always be able to heart a HB because of baby/uterus positioning. A friend I loaned my doppler out to has not been able to pick up her baby's HB with the doppler, even though her scans are all normal.

I had a sonolone b my last pregnancy. Maybe it was just me but I had so much trouble finding her heartbeat. I didn't find it reassuring because I would stress so much that I couldn't find it. She just moved so fast I could never keep up. Just ask yourself if you had trouble finding it would you be able to handle it or automatically assume the worst.
