bluedot It didn't have anything to do with the implosion. An awesome poster from there decided to post all of the Larry porn on Parenting after it all happened.

Really dumb pumping question: I pumped last night and only got less than an ounce, so I put bottle, flanges and all right into the fridge. Can I just hook them back up to the pump right now? Will the warm milk curdle with the cold milk? Is it not sanitary to do that??

Caught up. Phew.
codypup so happy you talked to your boss!! I'm so glad it's working out
@joybaby5 L is refusing her first nap of the day the last 5 days. Afternoon nap she goes down no issues at all.
I've had a busy day. Took my dog to the park with my bff/sis in law and her dog, then went grocery shopping, then my mom came over for an afternoon visit. L is napping right now and then I'm off to my other sis in laws for my nieces bday.
sakura0019 - I remember reading that you shouldn't combine milk if it is at different tempatures. I can't remember where though. Maybe someone will have some more info. @disneypeanut - Gilmore Girls of course!

sakura0019- I beleive the recommendation is to mix milk of the same temp, so to start a new bottle, chill it, and then combine it. That said, I would probably just hook right back up.

Technically not supposed to but if I were freezing the milk or giving it within a day or so I would totally do thisl If you're holding onto this milk for Saturday night though I'd clean everything and pump into a new bottle, chill and then combine.

Yes, I'm freezing it right after.
Would it work if I took the set up out and let it warm up for a bit?
Thanks for all the insight, ladies!! I clearly don't pump very often. I'm trying to build my freezer stash for when we start the transition to WCM
@sakura I've read that you can add cool milk to frozen milk but you can't add warm milk to cool milk. If you are giving the milk right away though, I wouldn't think it'd make a difference.
While we're answering milk questions, lo was not interested at all in the milk in a straw cup. Can I save it for tomorrow? She never drank from the cup but it was at room temperature today.
I can't imagine still getting to be on maternity leave right now. That would be awesome. What happens if you get pregnant again soon, still get a year? Or is it too complicated to get in to?
After much thought I've decided I just need a couple of days to myself. So I took next Monday and Tuesday off. (One of those days is my birthday.) I plan on dropping the kids off at daycare and poofing for a while. I'm tempted to ask DH for a solo overnight at a hotel.
I'm torn on whether I should tag people for PMs. I feel like most of us have the app so we get notifications but what if I'm wrong. What do you guys think?

Good for you, Avswolf! You deserve it! I say go for the hotel as well

Prompted by irrational guilt: I probably won't get around to reading all the recent lurker intro threads because I can hardly keep up with the Randoms. But "hi!" and "welcome!" and I'll get to know you as we roll along

Work has been kicking my butt in general. But today tops it.
Short: I'm getting a violent student in my class, starting tomorrow.
Longer: A student with major behavioral issues has been bullying a girl in his third grade class. She has a birthmark on her head and he repeatedly has made fun of her for it. Yesterday, he shaped his hand in the form of a gun, pointed directly at her and said,"I wish I had a gun so that I could shoot you right in that spot on your head." He got a one day suspension (today) and the follow-up will be placement in my classroom starting tomorrow. In the middle of the trimester. No warning. Only ONE DAY suspension. Like, fucking really?!?!?!? Mom of the daughter is threatening to get the police involved and for the first time, I might actually agree with her. Our school has a shitty record of appropriately dealing with this kind of behavior. I recommended that he immediately receive counseling. VP told me that mom flat out refuses, saying that she is his counselor. O-kay.
Last year I had a student who stabbed his father in the eye for making fun of him and ended up blinding him--when he was four. Another flipped a desk and attacked the VP and his teacher when he was in kinder. Am I a magnet for students with a penchant for horrific behavior?
DH just left to go take care of something on base, so I am curled up with the pup drinking cocoa and watching The Way We Were Ahhhhhhhh
I have an irrational wish that DH would have to go take care of something with all of the kids and leave me in the house by myself. In this fantasy he'd even take the dogs.

adinashoshana a four year old did that?! I can't even begin to wrap my head around this. I'm going to be optimistic and say that maybe they have that much faith in you that you can handle it so they are placing him in your class? That's stressful though. I'm sorry.
((Hugs)) adinashoshana. It definitely sounds like this kid could use some counseling (and more than one day suspension!) I hope your class can be a positive place for him to change.
