Forgive me if this was mentioned on the solids thread but can we talk about how many ounces of BM / formula our LOs are taking each day? I've been sending 2 5oz bottles to my moms with DD to last her from 7-5 and she's been eating 2 meals over there plus snacks. I'll nurse her at 6am, 5pm and right before bed at like 6:50. My moms been saying she is struggling to feed her all of the milk and she's been having to mix it in to her fruit/cereal to make sure she gets it all. Just needed to hear from my fellow J14s about how much milk are your LOs drinking now that we are 9 plus months and eating 3 meals a day... Thanks!
DD gets one bottle of 4-5oz and I'm able to nurse her at lunch, so it sounds about the same as you. She has water in a sippy with her am snack (9:30ish), I nurse before lunch (11ish nurse, lunch 12ish) and then the bottle with her pm snack (3ish). She nurses before school (6am) and before bed (7:30p ) as well.

C does 4 6oz bottles of formula and then eats breakfast and lunch.
I read that at 9 months they should be getting 16-24oz of milk/formula at this age. If they are still hungry then you're supposed to give more solid food and water. (It was in my weekly letter from enfamil)
Dd eats about 22 oz of formula and two meals, 3 6 oz bottles and one 4 oz. She doesn't always finish her last bottle though. She also sleeps through the night so her last bottle is around 7 and her first bottle is around 6:20-6:50 depending on what time she wakes up.

I'm not purposely disagreeing to cause a stink, but I've always heard the opposite. Food before age one is just for practice and most calories should still come from breastmilk/formula.

I didn't hold much stock in it. I just feed C till she's full I was going to run it by my pedi on Monday at her 9 month appointment.

Basically my supply is taking another dip and I've been making 5oz freezer bags but was thinking of starting to make 4oz bags. I know all babies are different but I want to make sure she's getting as much BM as possible. I'm also considering supplementing with formula while she is at my moms. The stress over pumping enough is real.

I started supplementing a month or 2 ago (about 2 oz/bottle to top off one pumping session). I finally saw enough of a decline to decide it really wasn't worth it any more and my last day pumping was last Thursday so her bottle is now all formula and she nurses for everything else. I agree about the stress over pumping. Supplementing definitely helped make it such a central focus for me.

DD has started drinking 7-9 oz during the day while I'm gone. She will do 2 1/2-3 oz at a time, usually three times, and no one can really get more in her than that. I figure if she was hungry for more she would eat more. I nurse her when I'm home.

Yea. I think I'm going to start making 4oz bags. My mom says that she's usually done with the bottle after 4oz anyway. So I'll start with that and see how it goes.
I guess I just feel like I'm so close to a year I just want to make it!!
surfmama106, I officially stopped pumping about a month and a half ago and it's so liberating. I loved being able to provide milk for my LO, but it was so much added stress. My supply tanked so badly at the end, that it was a no-brainer. (We do, however, still nurse morning/evenings and whenever we're together. But I work so there's that.)
In addition to the morning/evening nursing, he drinks formula at DC. It seems to vary each day...the lowest has been 11 ounces formula one day to 24 another day.
When I was pumping, I always bagged in either 2 or 4 ounce sets. That seemed to work well for us.
I basically send what I pump, and she drinks anywhere from 7-12 oz during a day (depending on how hungry she is, what I pumped, etc.)
We're lucky that we don't have to pre-make her bottles, and our DCP will just split them up depending on how she thinks LO is doing.
I will say that she typically doesn't drink much more than 4 oz in a sitting. I would say an actual average day is about 10 oz - 4 before her AM nap, 2 when she gets up, and 4 before her PM nap. She typically eats a solid breakfast before her AM nap, and solid lunch between her naps, too.
