I had a dream a couple nights ago that I was driving my car with LO on my lap. And in my dream I was like omg he needs to be in a car seat but I just kept driving super fast and weaving through traffic.

I has a dream a few weeks ago about being on a fair ride and the babies were in my arms but I couldn't hold onto them like they were floating in the air and I was dropping them. It was scary.

Whoa this thread was right on time. I had a terrible nightmare yesterday morning while dozing with LO. I won't detail it here bc there were just too many triggers but not only did it scare me, I felt guilty that my mind would have such horrifying thoughts. I guess I have some vicarious trauma through work that is coming out sideways. FX we all don't have anymore scary dreams!
Oh man that's crazy that you brought this up...last night's dream had me up crying (in real life!). My older chocolate lab Darby had to be put to sleep. I was watching as she was slowy going on my mom's driveway of all places. It was terribly sad and makes me feel so guilty of how little attention they get lately....
I had a dream that I was in a large body of water with my 4 year old and I let her go. And in my dream I can see her sinking. Then I woke up completely horrified and shaken up.

I have nightmares all. the. time. We're going to the beach in July and ever since that was planned I've had dreams about losing DS in the ocean or him getting a super severe sunburn. I've also dreamt that I forgot him at a store, or dropped him, and tons of other stuff. I think I have a mini-nightmare practically every time I close my eyes.
A month or two ago when LOs reflux was getting really bad I had two nightmares in which I died in the same night. In the second one, I was driving an open air jeep on a windy road and kept glancing back to see if LO was ok and she started screaming and basically the dream cut as I was rolling the car down the side of the hill.
Awhile ago I posted in the random thread that I had a dream about having a baby girl and putting her in a crib and then the crib started filling with water and I couldn't get her out. Then my husband had the exact same dream but his actually had our son.
I think these dreams are just our mind's way of expressing the stress we are feeling as the responsibility for these tiny lives hits us. We must compartmentalism it during the day but it emerges at night. They are the absolute most terrifying things in the world though. Both me and my husband woke up crying from our dreams.

Major trigger warning
Just woke up from a horrible dream. Someone was in my house (it was actually the brother of my childhood best friend) and I was running around crazy because he had taken my daughter. I finally bust open the locked door to the spare room and I find her. In a garbage bag. He had suffocated her. I took the duct tape off her mouth and started cpr. Luckily I was able to revive her.
