DH and I have finally (almost) decided on a vacation spot! We are thinking Naples FL in the middle of May. Does anyone have an travel tips? We've been all over the world, but rarely vaca in the US. So, can someone enlighten us regarding this area of the country? We are thinking of renting a condo or a small house for one week. TIA!

DH and I honeymooned here and absolutely loved it! We went to Key West for a day and also to the Everglades for a day. Sooo many good restaurants in Naples.
My grandparents used to live there, we spent many a family vacation in Naples. I haven't been in at least 10 years, though, so Ive got no restaurant recommendations. You can rent boats in the marina and spend the day boating through the canals to Marco Island, pull up the boat to a restaurant on the water in Marco and have lunch. Obviously the beach, there are lots of good shells in Naples, and you can do the Pier, rspecially at sunset. We used to drive through Port Royal and look at all the insanely huge homes. Have fun!!

I have some family in that area. It's been a while since I've been there too, but you could also visit Sanibel island to the north by maybe 30-45 mins(?) and I believe it's only a couple hours on alligator alley to get to the Atlantic Coast side if you're up for a road trip within a trip! Beaches in Naples are awesome. Have Fun!
