Weeks/Fruit: 37+3/Winter Melons or something else that is apparently big
Symptoms: Major discomfort kicking in, indigestion, fatigue, new stretch marks seemingy by the second
AW/Ultrasounds: This is my last pregnancy check in, last HDBD, last everything! I will be checked into the hospital this time next week unless something happens in the meantime!
Questions/Comments/Concerns: Now that I'm scheduled, I just hope to make it to there even though I'm miserable. It's really taking a toll on me being unable to do regular daily life activities. I never realized how active I was outside the gym until now.
QOTW: What are your favorite summer time activities? Not going to lie, most include a drink in hand! Anything outdoors from the back porch to the lake. I plan to be at the pool most of the summer to keep DD occupied. We have a big covered area with fans at our neighborhood pool that will be great for keeping the babies cool.

Weeks/Fruit: 29, pineapple
Symptoms: Crazy sore uterus, my entire belly is tender to the touch and difficult to walk. FUN! I was doing pretty great this pregnancy until yesterday, bummed that I'm hitting a wall so early.
AW/Ultrasounds: Had one on Thursday, babies look big and healthy and good fluid levels. Both same size-ish (3 lbs)
Questions/Comments/Concerns: Anyone else 28-30 weeks and not having their cervical length monitored? I'm probably being paranoid but they aren't checking that which makes me nervous. They never checked with my singleton pregnancy I just worry more with twins. Also see my fun post about irritable uterus. If anyone has any experience, please share
QOTW: Similar to Sassypants, drinking by the pool! I had an amazing summer last summer taking DS to the pool with DH 2-3 days a week and having margaritas and such. I'm bummed since my C section will likely be sometime in June and then I can't swim for 6 weeks (and will have newborns) I feel like this summer is kind of gone! The only nice part about being due in early summer (vs fall for my DS) is not having to survive the summer pregnant like I did last time around.
Thanks for the check-in, SassyPants150! Congrats on making it to the home stretch, can't wait to see your sweet babies next week. @feegan sciatica is no joke - hope it stabilizes, hang in there! bluebonnet22 I hope this "wall" that you hit yesterday is temporary! Take it easy, will be thinking good thoughts for you.
Weeks/Fruit: 16w3d/avocados
Symptoms: Exhausted. Nauseous/food averse and losing weight (see below). Otherwise enjoying the 2nd tri break!
AW/Ultrasounds: First bi-weekly monitoring ultrasound this afternoon.
Questions/Comments/Concerns: I'm stressing about my weight, I'm now down 10% from pre-pregnancy. Most of that was from severe m/s but the rest has been in the past week after my gallbladder surgery, getting sick from pain meds, etc. I know I can only do so much if I'm feeling nauseous and have no appetite (I'm on Diclegis already), but the whole internet keeps telling me how important it is to start packing on the pounds at this point, eat tons of protein, etc. I've lost a pound a day for the past few days. My MFM has a nutritionist on staff so I'm going to call today to get a referral. If anyone has words of wisdom/reassurance, I'd love to hear. I just hate to think that I'm setting myself up for complications or low birth weights?
QOTW: What are your favorite summer time activities? Spending a leisurely morning at the Farmer's Market, then taking the rest of the day to cook and enjoy whatever bounty I found there. I don't have space for my own veggie garden where we live right now so this is the next best thing.
SassyPants150 SO excited for your week of LASTS! bluebonnet22 I'd definitely ask them about some cervix checks!
Weeks/Fruit: 31w4d/ The Bump says Pineapple
Symptoms: Exhuastion, Light Headed
AW/Ultrasounds: Had an appointment last Thursday due to a lot of timeable Braxton Hicks- they did a Fetal Fibronectin swab which came back negative! That was good news
Questions/Comments/Concerns: Just trying to figure out what to do about work. I'm trying to take it one day/one hour at a time!
QOTW: What are your favorite summer time activities? Not too much. It's so hot to do much during the summer here, but I'm off all summer so usually it's just enjoying not having anything to do lol.
Squishy622 don't beat yourself up about weight loss. I feel like eventualy you'll be able to pack on some weight. As long as your doctors aren't worried about it, I would try not to worry too!

Weeks/Fruit: 24+2
Symptoms: Nothing seems to be changing on this front, mostly backache and feeling big/uncomfortable. I think I'm starting to get a little bit of pelvic pressure and pain in my hips, too, but again, I can't really complain.
AW/Ultrasounds: First growth scan is this week at 24 weeks! Can't wait to see the not-so-little-anymore piranhas, hoping they're nice and active again.
Questions/Comments/Concerns: Starting to pack my hospital bags -- if anyone has ideas for useful things beyond the obvious, I'd be happy to hear!
QOTW: What are your favorite summer time activities? I'm not much of a summer/sun/heat person, but I love swimming, particularly in the sea, and it does need to be warm here to do that. I think more than anything I'm just looking forward to sitting out in the garden with DH, drinking fruity drinks, and some white wine when I'm finally able to! (Glad I'm not the only one here keen on the summer drinks, haha!)
SassyPants150, You're an absolute trooper! I hope your last week isn't too uncomfortable and you make it to your scheduled D-Day.
@feegan, Fingers crossed that your haemorrhoid nightmare is dealt with from here on out.
Squishy622, The weight thing is stressful enough when you're not in recovery post-op, and I hope this gets easier on you in the next week or two.

Weeks/Fruit: 16 weeks/ avocado
Symptoms: Still some morning nausea. Feeling tightness/stretching/pulling in the abdomen
AW/Ultrasounds: My next ob appt is Friday. I don't know if I am getting an ultrasound or not
Questions/Comments/Concerns: I can't wait until I can feel them move. Earlier this month at my MFM appointment I was told both babies have anterior placentas, so I guess I might have to wait longer before I feel them.
QOTW: What are your favorite summer time activities? Taking walks, going to garage sales, wearing flip flops
Symptoms: I feel huge and have some pelvic pressure already (have for some time) but just had my cervix measured last week and all was well. Heartburn is starting to creep in. I consider myself pretty active and fit and am so surprised at how exhausted I am already in this pregnancy.
AW/Ultrasounds: Next appt is 5/8 and maybe an u/s that day as well. Back to MFM to monitor marginal cord insertion on 5/18.
Questions/Comments/Concerns: Just hoping all continues to go well with baby girl's growth and the marginal cord insertion causes no problems.
QOTW: What are your favorite summer time activities? I luuuuuuuv a fun summer drink and being out in the sunshine I'm from SC so living in chi is pretty hard on me so I really soak in the sunshine during the summer.
SassyPants150 how exciting! Congrats on your last check in.
Weeks/Fruit: 21w/ pomegranates
Symptoms: heartburn, pressure in my abdomen/ pelvic area, mild cramping
AW/Ultrasounds: ultrasound and OB appointment on Wednesday
Questions/Comments/Concerns: same as always, worried about my cervix. Can't wait to find out Wednesday how and where the babies are positioned, I'm feeling movement but mostly low and on the right side so I'm not sure if I'm feeling both babies or not. Want to make sure they are both still ok.
QOTW: What are your favorite summer time activities? Visiting the Thousand Islands on weekends, grilling out, And I'm with you @feegan, I really miss running!
SassyPants150, so exciting! bluebonnet22, my MFM does cervical checks every 2-3 weeks. Maybe be every week moving forward. I would definitely ask your OB about that.
Weeks/Fruit: 28 weeks eggplants!
Symptoms: lots of sciatica...and exhaustion
AW/Ultrasounds: Had an OB appointment today. I'm up 32 lbs....OB said thats right on target. I see my MFM on Thursday for a cervical check and to check babies weights. Had my 2nd GTT today, hoping I passed!
Questions/Comments/Concerns: None really....other then the sciatica & exhaustion, I'm feeling really good!
QOTW: What are your favorite summer time activities? I love me some Sam Adams Summer! Am really looking forward to that and to sitting by my sisters pool!
Edit: Had my MFM appointment yesterday. Cervix long & closed. phew....baby A weighing in at 2 lbs 12 oz and baby B 2 lbs 10 oz. Fluid levels looked good. That was a relief. At about 30 weeks with DD my fluid levels started to get low. Was induced at 38w with DD because my levels got so low. Having another u/s in 2 weeks....hope fluid levels stay good!
@feegan that's great that you found a place and will be settled in soon! We lived in the city for a few years before moving to the burbs. It was fun but the suburbs are definitely more my speed. We are about 40 mins or so away from you in the area.
Weeks/Fruit: 30/cantelope (last week they were pineapples, are they shrinking?)
Symptoms: Heartburn, exhausted, back pain, etc.
AW/Ultrasounds: I was supposed to have an appointment and growth scan yesterday but ended up getting a stomach virus the night before and had to be admitted to the hospital for dehydration. I was having irregular and small contractions and couldn't even feel them. They gave me a few bags of fluids and Zofran through IV. I had to have two manual cervical checks to make sure the contractions weren't productive-- OUCH. They released me with directions to keep hydrated and on a bland diet until I'm feeling better. I had a fever yesterday but it broke over night. Overall feeling like shit but thankful that it wasn't worse.
Questions/Comments/Concerns:
QOTW: What are your favorite summer time activities? BBQ'ing, swimming.
Symptoms: I think baby b flipped head down again because I have a ton of pressure down low. I've been getting tired more easily lately and have tried to lay down for an hour every day while DS naps. It's just a matter of if my work isn't too busy and I'm able to.
AW/Ultrasounds: next U/s isn't until the 15th. I passed my glucose screening last week easily though so I'm excited about that!
Questions/Comments/Concerns: just starting to stress slightly abuot all the what ifs and when these babies will come. if they do come early it will just be a logistics nightmare with care for DS until my parents can get down here.
QOTW: What are your favorite summer time activities? Boating, grilling, being outside by a pool, anything with a drink in hand. Oh how I look forward to lots of wine and vodka & crystal lights once these babies come!
Oh goodness @sassycassieb I can't LT your post. I'm so sorry, that sounds just awful! Glad your cervix is ok and hope this clears up and you are on the mend soon. Take care!!
Symptoms: I'm tired because my two-year-old is not having an easy time transitioning to her big girl bed, but other than that, I'm temporarily feeling like a normal human again! It is such a relief to be able to brush my teeth without dry heaving afterwards.
AW/Ultrasounds: Nothing coming up for a while.
Questions/Comments/Concerns: I've been reading books about twins and they are freaking me out. I should stop reading so much.
QOTW: What are your favorite summer time activities? Hiking, although I don't plan to do a ton of that this summer!
Weeks/Fruit: 18w4d, somewhere between bell pepper and heirloom tomato
Symptoms: Acid reflux, managed with ranitidine. Ligaments and/or muscles in my lower abdomen seem to get tired if I stand for too long. Speaking of tired, I'm sleepy, though that might be from not getting enough sleep and working a bunch at this conference. I work in public affairs at a research institution, so my job here is to socialize with a bunch of computer geeks and tweet about their talks. I don't mind doing it, but it is draining to try to understand some of it.
AW/Ultrasounds: Just waiting *ever so patiently* for my a/s in a week (5/6). OB appointment on 5/7, but that is much less exciting .
Questions/Comments/Concerns: Nothin' much.
QOTW: What are your favorite summer time activities? Grilling food. Hiking. Visiting friends in Colorado.
AW/Ultrasounds: We have an appointment to discuss reduction from triplets to twins on Friday :/
Questions/Comments/Concerns: Alright all you BTDT ladies, when did you first start to show? Because whether its bloat or babies, it is getting hard to find clothing that fits, let alone hide this whole pregnancy thing.
QOTW: What are your favorite summer time activities? I also can't wait to come out of hibernation in the Chicago area. I'm a backyard bbq, camping, hiking kinda person, so I'm really looking forward to cleaning up the yard so we can grill and start seeing our friends again (our house has a terrible layout for entertaining, but the yard is perfect!)

schmella I'm glad you joined us! Sending support and hugs your way as you make your difficult decision.
I noticed definite bumpage around 10-11 weeks but was able to stay in regular clothes through the end of first tri. I really didn't want to out myself at work before that and the maternity clothes really made it obvious. They are so comfy though!
Post by SassyPants150 on Apr 29, 2015 10:56:08 GMT -5
schmella, we are glad to have you! Looking back, I think 15 weeks was when I started to have a "bump". Before I even knew I was having twins though I was definitely extremely bloated and had to start using a belly band/rubberband trick on my pants.
Oh I need to clarify, I wasn't worried about judgement here. I am just fretting about SR and having kind of a hard time being excited with so much in the air. I also didn't want to offend or upset anyone that carried triplets to term.
It doesn't help that I am overweight to start. Some of this is bloat, but I was also due to buy new pants for work because I had gained a few lbs over the winter. Now I'm up 7lbs or so and I'm filling out really high right now, which is making me self conscious. Wearing looser shirts seems to make it more obvious. We checked out some maternity dress pants but they didn't fit right yet, so I'm just counting down the days until the weather gets a little nicer and I can wear skirts everyday!
schmella Thinking of you while you make this tough decision. I started seeing a little bump at 10 weeks. I don't think it was bloat, but I could see it more at 12 weeks!
SassyPants150 not related to this thread, but should we add a post to link off the welcome page with a poll about how much weight you gained? I feel like this is one of the first things everyone wonders/asks about. Thoughts? (Obviously no rush since eviction date is tomorrow!!!)
If you want to go ahead and make the poll go for it! I will link it when I get a chance
