Someone tell me how to Gif

Can someone give the tech stupid instructions on how to gif? I've tried and it isn't working and I'm too lazy to dig through the "help" thread. I'm on PC if that matters.

But with out the stars. I don't know if that works for pc.

Thanks! It doesn't show the pic prior to posting so I thought I was doing something wrong.
