I went to the dentist today to get my teeth cleaned. I need a crown on a tooth that I got a root canal done on a couple years ago, but I don't have dental insurance and I don't have an extra 1000$ just laying around. So my dentist decided to scare the crap out of me with some disgusting pictures of cracked teeth. Uh... Yeah I know it can happen and I really would love to get the crown, but if I can't pay for it then I can't pay for it! I understand where he is coming from but really? I have enough to worry about without that on my plate, too.
Dh hurt his back and won't go to the Dr. He has just been laying on the couch for almost 2 weeks. Absolutely all the parenting is on me. I'm overwhelmed and he's kind of being a jerk.

I totally understand you on this one. Dental work is so stinking expensive. The last time I went, I had a crown put on and a tooth pulled and it costed me over $2200. I had dental insurance too.
Yeah! It's ridiculous. My dentist does awesome work but he is one of the most expensive around. I could go somewhere else and get sub par work done, but I really don't want to have to do that. I paid out of pocket for my root canal and that was over 1000$!
Speaking of the dentist, I have to take my DSD back in today so the dentist can look at her back teeth they are all horrible. I'm scared they are gonna want to pull them shes a violent little girl with drs and I'm the lucky one that gets to hold her down... her lovely mother was like well have fun with that, then proceeds to tell me how smashed and all the things shes done the past few days.... musb be nice to have 7kids between her and her BF and only see one on a daily basis.....
I think they will probably cap them or that what the did with my oldest who had terrrrrible teeth. Are you going somewhere where they can give her a kiddie cocktail? Sorry about her mother, that's really sad.

Yeah. I had terrible teeth when I was younger and most of them were capped. I think if they pull any, which I don't think they will, they would likely give her something to keep her calm.
Speaking of teeth, my oldest who is 8 is getting on my last nerve. I have to supervise brushing in the morning because if I don't he will only brush for like 2 seconds. I send a toothbrush to school with him because he has braces and I want him to brush after lunch. But he doesn't. And at nighttime he's always trying to get out of brushing, to the point where he gets his toothbrush wet just to pretend he brushed. I cannot understand why a kid who cares so much about his appearance that he stares at himself in the mirror all the time and wakes up early to make sure he has time to style his hair, and iron his shirt if he needs to. Will not brush his teeth ?!

This might be too gross, but can you show him pictures of what teeth look like if you don't take care of them when you have braces on? The dentist or orthodontist may be able to help you with that too.
The orthodontist showed him gross pictures when they put them on. My mom cleans his teeth, and my uncle does his dental work and last time we were there they showed him a tooth they pulled that had a whole bunch of calcium build up on it (gag!) he was just like gross, and went on with his no teeth brushing ways. When he talks to me and I know he hasn't brushed his teeth I straight up tell him his breath reeks and his teeth look nasty and to go brush for at least 2 minutes. I refuse to have the kid who doesn't brush his teeth though if that means I have to stand in the bathroom every morning and night until he moves out. I will.
@nedralynn, oh man! That's rough! Sorry that you had to deal with that. And I hope she feels better soon. Getting teeth pulled sucks. Maybe she will learn to take care of her adult teeth better?
chicorojonannygoat... they filled one pulled one and she has to go back at the end of the month for another pull oh and she has too many adult teeth waiting to come in so we need to go to an orthodontist too........
Oh and I love the dirty looks I get for her teeth being this bad.... dude wasn't me talk to her father and mother. I make sure my kids teeth are brushed thank you very much
My mil is great when she's watching LO. But for whatever reason she favors DHs sister and her 4 kids (who she complains about being so busy as a mom and they live in a 2.5 bedroom house...but that's another story). Mil actually offered to retire early and move to Michigan to help her. So anyway when LO was on the way we asked her if she'd be willing to watch him one day a week. She said she wasn't sure because she was retiring this year and doesn't know her schedule. Fair enough but since you are retired now can't you just make the time since work is not an issue?? Finally after a 1000 maybes with DH asking her I emailed her abs directly said how about Wednesdays. She said ok! Fast forward to last night and she calls DH and tells him she's thinking about taking this a perm sub position sept-Dec. He asks how that will work with watching LO. Turns out she's already accepted the position and it's actually not a question but a heads up of you have to find childcare. My parents go to Florida in the winter so in January we will be out the two days they watch him. DH asks her if she can babysit then and she says she hates winter so much that she's not leaving the house for 2-3 months and will order groceries and stuff online. what the f is wrong with you?? So now we are trying to figure out the expense of putting LO in daycare for 5 days instead of 3. Plus I wanted him to be home like he is now and spend time with his grandma but obviously it's not a priority. I don't get it.
Wow, looks like I'm not the only one with dental issues. I have started a root canal and will get a crown. Two more appointments and all out of pocket. My gums hurt, my LO won't nap, I have my period which is a painful biatch, and my back is killing me. Oh and I have to take my DD1 to the dentist also. She has a cavity that hurts. With her I'm scared to go because I'll have to take LO along. My daughter is 8 but I have a nightmare story from when I took her to the dentist to get a cavity filled when she was little. She freaked out and peed on me.

Ugh. I'm so friggin pissed at DH. He told his brother that we've been having a dry spell. (Dry spell by DH's standards. I thought I'd been doing pretty good but it still is really uncomfortable so I'm not like jumping his bones). I feel so embarrassed. I'm sure his brother went home and told his wife, who I'm sure has the perfect golden vagina. Hdyxoshev428#&$8"+! We just had a long discussion about this so it's no secret to DH how I feel. It's not that I don't want him to be close with his brother. It's just a little too intimate for my liking.
I'm two days late but I need to bitch about this morning. My morning routine consists of getting up around 5:30, pumping, getting breakfast and lunch together, feeding LO, getting myself showered and changed, and then walking the dog before I leave for work at 7am. The past week DH has been able to get in to work between 9 and 9:30 so he has "graciously" offered to walk our dog so I can get an extra 15 minutes of sleep. He has also offered to feed LO in the morning so I'm not rushing to feed him.
Last night he stayed up late watching a movie so he was tired this morning. So when LO gets up today at 6am he starts bitching about the baby keeping him up when he wants to sleep and essentially kicks LO out of the bedroom so I can feed him while he sleeps. I ended up being 30 minutes late to work because it was clear that he wasn't going to walk the dog, but then took the time to take an extra long shower.
