rquinlin I'm glad you got answers. I hope the Zantac works quickly
shanniegal hugs. Dealing with a pp body is hard. I tried to wear jeans before Easter and it was terrible and nothing fit. I'm just starting to fit my fat shorts but I look terrible. I can get the shorts on but then I have major muffin top/loose skin on my belly just hanging out. It took me a long time after DS was born to accept that my body will never be the same. It's hard, especially when going into summer.
I'm starting to think about going back to work (thank goodness I have a couple more weeks).
1. I'm looking for a nice look bag for cheap that will hold my pump, accessories, and a lunch and the top needs to zip. Any ideas? I looked at target but the selection was slim and the only one that would work was $50.
2. What are your favorite shoes? I need flats, heels/wedges, and shoes for summer. I haven't bought shoes in forever. For work, I have a desk job but travel a lot and there are times I need to walk a good distance so I'm looking for comfort.
A bit OT but I thought you guys would have some ideas.
jennypm yay for puppy snuggles. My XH had our dog put down the day the divorce was final, the vet told me accidentally. Ass.
ruemorgan I took M swimming yesterday with H and the big kids. She loved kicking her feet and hitting the water with her little fists.
I can't remember who else I wanted to tag, sorry. Yay for NIP success, yuck for sick husbands and loud mariachi music.
AFM: M slept like crap, she was up and fussy for an hour and a half last night. On top of waking up 3 other times, I'd love to go back to her 4-6 hour stretches. DS is in his class musical Thursday, so we've spent a lot of time practicing our line being slow and loud. I think it'll be cute to see him on stage, and if he's like me he will freeze which I hope doesn't happen.

ruemorgan I waited till DS1 was 6 months to start swim class for a few reasons. Our swim school didn't take them any younger, it is an outdoor pool without shade over the pool so he needed sunscreen (we had been told to hold off on sunscreen of possible till 6 months) and DS had very sensitive skin and eczema so the chlorine would irritate his skin. If it wasn't for these things I would have started him earlier. The chlorine won't bother all babies.

Have fun!
I wont be going to an outdoor pool until mid summer because of the sun. I want to get a kiddie pool but we really dont have shade in our back yard so im hesitant. We shall see. I hope he doesnt have a reaction to the sunscreen, so far he has had no reactions so heres to hoping!
@rqiinlin I'm glad you got answers. My LO is also on Zantac, it is helping. LollyTee Sorry your husband is sick. Mine is also throwing up. My stomach is starting to hurt, I'm just praying me and the baby don't get it.
rquinlin I'm glad you know what the problem is now. FX that the meds work well for your LO!
LollyTee, @cinammonlatte, Sorry to hear YHs are sick. FX that you and LOs stay well!
Thanks for all the support ladies. It means a lot to know people are thinking about me and wishing me well. I got out with Z and took a long walk today which made me feel good, too.
My boss just told me her friend posted on facebook that she posted 'like 40 oz of breastmilk pumped in one session.' So obviously I was 'nuh uh, youre lying.' She pulled up the picture for me , 6 bottles all with 7 oz in them. OMG WTF WOMAN. First off, that has to hurt. Second...in the comments she said she is currently pumping and dumping because she ran out of room in the freezer. My heart DROPPED. What did she just say?!? I spent ten minutes convincing my boss to reply (she hasn't spoken to her in 8 years so she thought that would be awkward) but I kept arguing there are precious little NICU babies that desperately need bm and youre concerned about being awkward? No, fuck that. Finally she let me type a reply, I wrote "you should consider donating your milk, you can find local groups on facebook like Human Milk 4 Human Babies MA or you can talk to a local hospital about becoming a certified donor for the NICU. " that wasnt so bad. I really hope she does something, anything other than pump and dump. What a shame.
thenetwork, you'll get into a morning routine eventually. I've been trying since last week. I was successful once! So far I can start work around 9. Sounds great, but technically I start at 8. malvo, I have the cheap thermometer from Target and it works fine. I'd just get another one and see how it does. I've bought expensive thermometers that we're crap so I think it's just luck sometimes to get a good one. I have a forehead thermometer but it's not reliable with A being so little.
All my love tits are for support and commiseration. You guys seem to be reading my mind lately... LO needs more toys? BAM you talk about it. Lactation cookies? BAM you talk about it. Cleaning the keurig.... You talked about it ha
I know this should be in the HDBD thread but we NIP twice while out for cinco de mayo! Thankfully I got a margarita in the end too!! How I missed you sweet tequila and salt rim!
jnow I plan to put my LO in her own room starting next week at 8 weeks. I can't take the noises any more.
sjep922 My LO has been doing the same snacking and lot sleeping during that day. So annoying.
Good luck to all those back at work or returning soon. That will be me in a few more weeks.
Last night was the third night in a row that LO slept through the night. I can't believe that this has lasted. I'm honestly nervous that the pedi will tell us she's too young and we need to wake her up to feed. She eats more during the day, so I'm pretty sure she is still getting the same amount of food. I'm ready to move LO into her own room. She is so noisy at night. Now that she is STTN I see no reason to keep her in my room but the pedi said to wait until at least 4 months due to SIDS risk...I don't know what to do. I've been kind of down the last few days. I'm tired all the time, I feel trapped in this house and I can never get anything done. I know I'm singing to the choir and this is how it is with a baby, I'm just still struggling to adapt. I look forward to when I get more reactions from her. I'm jealous of all of you that get smiles! She smiles at the wall, the ceiling fan, and herself in the mirror, but I just get lots of staring. I'm sorry this turned into a dear diary!
rquinlin that sounds scary l hope everything is okay! I'll be keeping an eye out for your update. (just saw an update! Don't know what GER is but I hope it's not too serious and the zantac will help!) Koda yikes! Hope everything is ok and that a big one doesn't come! ruemorgan swim lessons sound so fun! I can't wait to do them with my LO! LollyTee fx your H feels better soon. I agree with all pp that LO should be fine if he isn't kissing on her too much chilibeansm0m good luck today! Sounds like it'll be a fun day though! Esp with panrera for lunch! ajacot924 the love it was for LO STTN. I'm sorry you've been feeling down lately the first few months can be tough getting into a new normal.
Afm, since our awesome talk about toys possibly helping lo's in the car, I went to target today and got her some chewy keys, a monkey that makes noise, soft covers for the straps (ya know in case they were bothering her neck or something) and a mirror that lights up and plays music to hang on the seat. I AM DESPERATE! please let LO be content in the car. I also couldn't help myself and bought her 3 new pairs of shorts and a sun hat.. Shhh don't tell SO!
ajacot924 are you able to go on a walk with your LO? Getting some fresh air has been super helpful to me so I don't feel as trapped. I also talk to LO about all my life issues on these walks. So it's like a double dose of therapy for me.
LollyTee hope your h gets better soon! Yay for nip!
wifieo too cute! I wanted a Rita yesterday...didn't happen...
ajacot924 getting back to work has made me feel less trapped...the feeling sucks! Can you get out at all? Mall or park to just walk around?
F has a runny nose. I had to clear it twice overnight and my mom has had to before each bottle today. She must have a little cold like myself. Hopefully she'll recover quick and get back to sleepin better at night!
My day has gotten better- my best coworker and friend have me a pep talk which I dearly needed.

Ugh every time I get A down for a nap, just as I'm about to take one myself she wakes up. She normally takes a long nap in the mornings but hasn't done that today. I just really want to sleep.
shanniegal Girl I hear you on every single point that you made. Now that LO is outside my body, it's like there's no excuse. But there totally is - we birthed babies we carried & nurtured for 9 months! It's a good reminder for all of us to take it easy on ourselves. Especially at the start of summer clothes season.
Speaking of which, I refuse to give up my maternity leggings but have very few long tunics that'll cover my ass (I wore them with a lot of winter dresses when I was pregnant.) In a fit of desperation, I went on Amazon during a MOTN feeding Monday and bought the first 4 light/short-sleeved tunics I found with Prime shipping and non-sketchy reviews. I don't normally blitz clothing shop on Amazon, but I'm desperate to feel comfy and slightly fashionable.
Thanks for all the NIP support and advice about my sick DH!!
Too: anyone else using the Wonder Week app/book? I know I'm a few weeks behind most of you because of my April baby, but I thought I heard some of you mention it weeks ago. Seems spot on for us this week.

You both will be just fine. Personally I wouldn't worry about it. DS1 had noticeably sensitive skin starting at 1 week. Enjoy your swim class! I'm excited for you.

I have it. Still early for us too (birthday was 3/30) but it seems to be pretty accurate for us so far : )
So, I took M to the pedi. I asked my step-mom for her advice and even when I called to make an appointment, I was like, "If I should just let it ride out, let me know!" But they had me come in.
Pedi didn't find anything wrong. Lungs are clear, breathing is normal. But after spending 5+ weeks with LO, I know her "voice" is off. She sounds so strange -- like a longtime smoker with that raspiness. And I normally have a very awake baby. She's been so sleepy. Like, we ate dinner in peace, enjoyed birthday cake in peace, I took a shower that wasn't hurried, I pumped twice in complete silence... not the norm! My little PITA is just blah right now.
The pedi did say there was a possibility that she had a virus, but didn't seem convinced. Whatev.
We will be getting ointment for her eyes, which tear and crust like crazy. Hopefully it helps. M hates having her face washed, and we currently do it several times a day. She's never amused.
jcar - last fall I went on a spree at an Aerosoles outlet. Super comfy shoes and they have many that don't scream '68 year old crazy cat lady'.
ruemorgan - 40 oz! My boobs would explode even if they even contained a combined total of 8 oz. I hope she donates, but at the same time I hope she can correct the oversupply issue. Ouch!
ajacot924 - hugs. I've felt like that before. It's hard, but you might want to try forcing yourself out of the house. My first few adventures out alone, LO was crying as we left the house. He was fed, changed, and grumpy. Turns out I think he was bored. He does so much better when he gets out of the house for a walk each day and so do I.
malvo - I hope she starts perking up and acting like normal. I'd head back in to the pedi if she doesn't improve in a couple days. Who cares if they are annoyed. You're around baby 24/7 and know what's normal.
I got my IUD this morning. So far no pain but I took ibuprofen before getting it. I am bleeding like I'm having a period and I'm kind of glad I am. I feel weird DTD right after getting it in. Even though my OB said it would be effective immediately, I want to give it a week. I had what appeared to be fertile CM over the weekend and I do not want Irish twins!
