We are on our third IUI attempt and all three times I have only had follie activity on my left ovary. For some reason I figured my ovaries would take turns producing follies. I didn't really get a chance to ask my RE or NP about it and am super curious, so I figured I'd see if that was normal. Also, I don't know if this info is pertinent, but I have done Menopur for all three cycles.

Although I've read that it's typical for lead follies to develop on alternate ovaries each cycle, that hasn't been my experience in monitored cycles.
Did your right ovary not have antral follie activity even in the early part of your cycles? If so, I would ask about that. But if both started to develop some follies under 10mm and the left just happened to have the lead follie that pulled ahead in the end, that wouldn't seem so strange to me. Before treatments, O pain led me to believe I was O'ing on the right 2/3 times, but on meds, the left has had the biggest response around 2/3 times.

I had a similar situation on clomid. My left ovary was the STAR producer EVERY clomid cycle with 3 mature follies, while my right ovary would only produce one mature follicle, if any. I thought it was so weird. The follicle count on CD3 was pretty much the same on both sides. I asked the RE and he had nothing to say...just "well sometimes one of your ovaries responds better than the other on clomid." Thanks for nothing RE! So pretty much I have no helpful info for you, but maybe someone else will chime in
On Clomid & Femara my left ovary was always the dominant one. Clomid seemed to produce more follicles for me than on Femara and Injects. On injects each ovary has been participating but only 1 lead follie. Re is afraid of over-stim my cycle.

Thanks ladies! I had one maybe follie on my right during one of my cycles, which never developed completely. By trigger day it has only been one lonely follie on the left ovary. deelopi9, mine is super afraid of that also.
I'm not sure about medicated cycles but my RE said after she found my damaged left ovary that I technically could have been Oing only out of that side and it could explain the IF. Even though they "take turns" one could be the one Oing for numerous cycles before the other one takes its turn.
