I think bachelorette parties and bachelor parties should go away. Why do you need to go out and act a fool with plastic penises for one night? You're domesticated and just spent 5k on live floral arrangements and edible flowers for the cake. Take your party out and treat these ladies who spent a fortune on the dress and shit you picked out for them and get pedicures. If you're the dude and need to grind on naked women other than the person you're committing to, then you don't need to be getting married. Go out for beers and pizza. Come on.
ETA: marriage to any Significant Other.... not just straight couples...
I am with you 100% yalllow. If you feel like you haven't had enough single sexy time yet then you're not ready to get married. One night of hedonism isn't going to fix it. Having a nice girls or guys night out is the way to go.
...so says the lady who got married at 34 to a 36 year old. By then we were just too tired to care.
I tell my hubs, if we aren't going to believe in "Jesus" and "God" then why are celebrating Christmas?? Easter?? He says - well because they're fun! Hubs... juxtaposition. . .

I married at 24 to a 26 year old...and I was too tired too lol we just went out for dinner and then karaoke for my bachelorette party.
I got married at 27 to a 34 year old. I totally had a bachelorette party but he didn't have a bachelor party (not in the traditional way). I ha a lingerie party, went out to dinner, and then went dancing at a gay club (they have way better music to dance to and the atmosphere is much more fun). My H went out to a Mexican restaurant with his family and friends.
I got married at 25 to a 35 year old. I didn't have a bachelorette party. DH's bachelor party was all-day gaming (D&D, etc.) followed by going out to dinner and a "club" at night. The latter was really his groomsmens' idea though so DH just went along with it; he really isn't into that sort of thing.
