Sorry to be an AW & create my own thread but I would really appreciate anyone's advice or experience with betas.
I had mine drawn today at 17 DPO and it was 28. I have another one in 48 hours. I know some of you saw me post my weeks estimator pee stick which said 1-2 weeks (which really should read 2-3), and I know that in itself is not a big deal... But combined with this low beta of 28, I am freaking out! Has anyone had betas this low around 17 DPO? I know you're not supposed to worry about a single beta level but I can't help it. My doctor wasn't too supportive, "well, it could be really early... Or it could be a chemical pregnancy." Well, thanks buddy.

Fx for good numbers on Monday! Try not to focus so much on the starting number. My Dr. told me the most important thing is if they're doubling. My starting beta was 25 at 12 dpo, but had tripled in 48 hours. Keep busy this weekend!!!
I'm so sorry you are in beta hell, it isn't fun. I know how that feels.
Remember that one beta alone isn't very useful. I will be honest and tell you my experience. My beta at 18 DPO with my chemical pregnancy was 12, after 48hours it was 8. My beta today at 17DPO was higher. You are still within the range for a normal pregnancy. I do understand your concern and fear though.
Friday (17 DPO) beta was 28. Sun (19 DPO) today beta was 37.
It's not doubling but getting higher still.
No bleeding or anything and I feel fine. Does anyone have any personal experience or insight? I won't hear from the Doctor until tomorrow since it's Sunday. I'm going crazy!!!!
itsmeally no experience but I was just reading some things that might help ease your mind, or at least feel hopeful for now.
- 85% of normal pregnancies, the hCG level will double every 48 – 72 hours. As you get further along in pregnancy and the hCG level gets higher, the time it takes to double can increase to about every 96 hours.
Eta: so on the first little blurb I took that to mean 1) it could still be a normal/healthy pregnancy because 85% is not 100%, and 2) really you have up to 72 hours to double and they only tested 2 days apart.
itsmeally, I'm no doctor (well, not that kind lol) but I want to believe that the higher numbers are promising. Looking at what @sparkly just posted it sure is reasonable to believe another 24 hours you could have achieved doubling. I am thinking this is a good sign. Hopefully your doc will ease any worries tomorrow
I'm sorry you are still in limbo. To be honest, you will probably continue to be limbo for a while. With those numbers, your doctor will probably want to take another draw or two to get an idea of what's going on. It's good that your numbers went up, but as they didn't go up as much as the doctors would like to see, you, unfortunately, aren't out of the woods. Being honest again, your doctor may be pessimistic about the pregnancy. However, as Sparkly pointed out, there are a lot of variables at play, and all kinds of possibilities exist.
itsmeally, I'm so sorry things weren't clearer, but from what I know, up is good. Down is bad.
So I am hopeful and also hope that the doctor has something useful to say tomorrow, and presumably you will get another test early this week to see what direction things are going.
Thanks ladies. I'm trying to be hopeful but stay realistic as well- that's tough to do in this situation. I hope to hear from the OB tomorrow morning & I'll update you guys on what the plan is. Thanks for all of your T &P's!!
