My dd will be 15 months on tomorrow and the past two weeks she has been getting up at 5am! We've adjusted he bed time to no avail, given more snacks before bed, and adjusted naps. I would accept the 5am wake up time but she is cranky beyond belief when she gets up. So the past few mornings I've taken her in our bed at 5(because I am downright exhausted) and she falls back asleep and sleeps until 730 (her previously normal time). Then she is much happier when she rises. Thoughts?? Suggestions? Anyone else going through something similar?

My lo has done something similar the last few weeks. Sometimes I give her some milk and she goes back down. I think it might be teeth. Hopefully it's a phase and she moves through it quickly.
bmbrinson09 I'm hoping the same thing. I think with my lo it may be a growth spurt. "Every phase will eventually end" has gotten me through some of the tough ones. ?

Does she cry for you at 5? My DS2 did this exact thing this morning at 5:18, I went in and gave him his pacifier again and he sent down. Sometimes we just leave him and he puts himself back to sleep. Sorry about this and I hope it passes soon.
Yes, nebraska84 it's usually right around 5. We've tried letting her settle herself and it works maybe 40% of the time. We also now give her a stuffed animal to sleep with and she seems to like that as well. I read that if they start getting up anhour or two early it's a sign that they need to drop a nap. Not sure that is the solution either. I'm hoping it passes quickly because I'm getting tired.

meskiier, I have been thinking of you. Did you adjust your LO napping schedule. As soon as I commented that my LO was good at going back down he stopped being good at it. the last few days he has been up a little before 6 am and I am wondering if I need to drop his first nap. We have been great with 2 naps and he naps at both of them, but I would like to have him sleep in longer. wonder what you have done
nebraska84 my lo had her 15 mo appt on Tuesday and doc confirmed that I should have her drop the first nap. We are going on day 3 and it seems to be working. I keep her awake until noon regardless of when she wakes up (she is really cranky) and then let her sleep 2-3 hours. We've kept bed time the same and she is sleeping later and later in the am.
