Power pumping and eating my struggle lunch now. Eating healthy is so boring.
I think eating healthy can be fun, you just have to get into the right mindset about it. Like, I start to see calorie counting as a bit of a challenge/game and then I make DH guess how many calories are in our dinner. Yes, that is actually fun for me lol
Currently I am not in that mindset though and I need to get back there. Because apparently the pizza and beer are fun mindset that I'm currently in is not so good for weight loss!
I can have fun with it, but bad food is just so much more appealing. But I have lots of points to eat, so a cookie is in my near future

Yep, that is the best part! Being so good all day that there's plenty of room for dessert

It does suck, i am trying to still enjoy some foods but practice portion control. I dont have to eat everything that is in front of me. I can have a few bites or 1 piece of chocolate and savor it a bit instead of having 10 pieces.
KMW08 work drama sucks! That's part of the reason I'm home with a sick baby...just over working with mean girls. Baby slept awful last night because her ears were bothering her. So rather than go to work tired I decided f-it keep baby home another day to regroup..and maybe I can nap too.
Chubby babies are adorable..I don't have one..mines a peanut. But still love little chubby cheeks. DD was 25.5 inches and 14 lbs 12 oz at her 6 month. DHs friends 10 week old had almost the same stats haha.
We're 32 weeks/7.5 months. It started last week. If you're into Wonder Weeks, there's also another leap happening around 37 weeks, but the "fussy period" begins at 33 weeks.
The actual leap. A lot of the leaps have "fussy periods" that start a few weeks before the actual leap occurs. So you get fussy baby for like 3.5 weeks, then you start noticing skills emerging. Some of the skills are: recognizes certain words, imitation, recognizing self in mirror, peek-a-boo, crawling.
I decided to pick up DD from MILS early today because I missed her. I got some cuddles, she ate and is now napping! I feel like I should do something but instead I am on PB - go figure I have SO MUCH TO DO

Wait, recognizes words like laughing and tensing up when you say the word "tickle" or more complex than that?

Like, if you point at a picture of a cat and say "cat," and you've been doing that for awhile, they'll know it's a cat. And if you point at a real cat and say "where the cat?", they'll know it's a cat. This leap is called "categories" so they start noticing similarities and putting them into categories.

Here, I got my WW book out.
Fussy period for Leap 6: Categories starts at around 33 weeks after the due date. Signs are frequently crabby, cheerful on moment and crying the next, clingy, wants you to keep them busy, is more shy, wants closer physical contact, sleeps poorly, seems to have nightmares, loses appetite, babbles less, is less lively, sometimes just sits quietly and looks absent, get mad during diaper changes, sucks thumb more often, wants cuddly toys more than usual, acts more babyish, such as needing to be rocked to sleep again.

New skills that emerge from Leap 6 will be seen around 37 weeks past the due date and they are:
shows that they can recognize a category (of animals, for example) in pictures, toys and real life distinguishes shapes show she is having fun by sound or movement (specific to your baby) understands name of objects or animals compares things seen directly and through a screen
relates more to other people with sounds and gestures imitates, mimics clearly wants to play with others around
recognizes people even in unfamiliar environments makes silly faces at his mirror image looks at a thing in a mirror and tries to find it in the room
exhibits what seems like jealousy "comforts" cuddly toys can exaggerate mood cries when others cry
initiates games plays peek-a-boo tries to feed others with food or bottle

Oh I would say we are here or getting here. DD is 31 weeks ... very clingy, I have had to rock her to sleep the last 2 nights, napping less and so much more cuddely/wanting to be closer. I am enjoying the cuddles though, I told H there will come a day she doesn't want me near her so I want to soak this up.
Anyone else's kid full on grunting and pushing and making crazy faces when they poo? Watching DD now and it is hilarious!! good thing I JUST changed her diaper.

Yeah, DS is 32.5 weeks and we are right up in it. Crabby, clingy, shy, nightmares, restless sleeping, loss of appetite, less lively, closer contact, hates diaper changes, more babyish, all of it. It suuuuuuucks, minus the snuggles. Though DS pinches while he snuggles so it's not as much fun.

Oh that sucks, no pinches! I have a feeling this is going to get worse. Bracing myself. I just hope it isn't as bad as month 4 was. That was a rough one for us. It is so crazy to see the changes they go through now, the last 2-3 weeks have been crazy

I have bruises on my upper arms from his pinches. He also loves neck skin. He'll pinch everyone's neck skin.

We are starting to see that here, too. I'm not saying LO is advanced because she's only 28 weeks, but this kid seems to hit her wonder weeks early by about 2 or so weeks even though she was born right at term.

LO loves the texture of skin, but she's more keen on sticking her fingers up your nose or trying to gouge out your eyes, especially while nursing.
