I read somewhere that pacifier use in babies can result in more ear infections. Have you found this to be true? How many ear infections has lo had and do they use a pacifier?
Pacifier at bedtime and nap time. No ear infections.
I had read that letting a baby fall asleep while drinking can lead to ear infections - we always kept her up after a bottle for a little bit - not sur if that helped us get lucky.
No paci and no ear infections. However, with DS, he didn't use a paci and he ended up with 4 sets of tubes. Poor thing was practically born with an ear infection.
My M14 baby (DS) uses a paci (mostly just for sleeping at this point, but more when he was younger). He's had 2 ear infections so far.
DD never used a paci, and she has only had one ear infection and was almost 3 years old when she got it.
However, I've always assumed the difference in my kids' incidences was due to DS being in a day care center with many children, and DD being in an in-home situation with one other kid until she was 2 years old. I figured he has been exposed to more germs, leading to more colds, leading to more ear infections. Interesting theory though.
