Is it selfish to only have one child?

I swear, this woman is reading my mind - I have been AGONIZING over this since Bryce turned a year old. Every time someone brings up "when are you having another child?" all of this comes to mind, and I feel so torn over it. My husband also isn't sure if he wants another, so it's really true for both of us. Anyone else having these thoughts? I know this gets discussed a lot in the baby fever thread, but thought I'd start a different thread for this article.

We are one and done. Knew it before we had her...gave it a year or so and we are still happy with our decision. It doesn't mean we don't get the comments or sometimes hesitate in our decision. But we are happy. We are an active family and having one fits perfectly. I am also an only child and I have no desire for a sibling myself. Don't listen to other people. If it is right for you, then there should be no question.

I struggle with this daily. I always thought I'd have 2 kids. I'm very close with my siblings and so is my husband (we are both 1 of 3). But, even before having 1 I started to question my decision when I realized the reality of it. My husband is also on the fence, so... I have no idea what we will do. But I think about it all the time. I told myself I wasn't going to even worry about it in 2015, since even if I do have 2 it definitely won't be in the ever popular 2 year age gap time period. But, I still think about it even though I said I wouldn't ha ha

IF we have another, we wouldn't even start trying until fall of 2016 so they would be 3.5-4 years apart. And yet, like redsoxgirl10 I still think about it all.the.time! I told my husband and he just says 1) B would be just fine if she were an only child, she wouldn't know the difference, and 2) since we both don't want another right now, why even think about it? I guess I should listen to him more, but my mind keeps fighting with me
