We call Tristan "Tristoph" or "Tristopher" ....... I have no idea why. I also call him Tristy pretty often.
Eta: I think Nico is pretty cute. But I bet if I had a Nicolas I would end up calling him Nicky. I always shove a y on the end of my nicknames for some reason.
I actually think about this often LO's name is Lucas. I always thought we would use Luke as a nickname but when we actually call him by his name it is always Lucas. Often though we call him baby.

DS doesn't have a nickname, DD does. We knew from the beginning with each what we were going to call them while we have a say.
My sister went by Nikki until 3rd grade. My parents went to conferences and the teacher referred to her as Nicole. That was the first they had ever heard her called that. To this day, she is known as Nikki to family and Nicole to the rest of the world.
I also like Nico. I have a similar dilemma. LOs name is Krystian, only nickname I can think of is Krys, but I don't like it because it's short for Christopher. Little bud and Krystian is what I call him now.
Nico is cute. My boys are Connor and Finn and I usually call them Connor and Finny or Finny boy. Sometimes I call Connor Connie and Dh hates it lol. DD calls them Connor Connor and Finny boy.

Baby girls name is Ivy , I call her evie most times or baby girl. H calls her evelerz (eve with lerz on the end) for Isaiah I call him lil man everyone else calls him ribsy cuz he's so skinny . We're weird I know lol
LOs name is Grayson. I don't think there is really a way to shorten it. I just call him Baby or Boo Boo (he likes when I say boo so it stuck ). DH calls him Booger
Almost exactly this... So weird I call him Booger or Booger Butt. Also, I'm partial to Nick, but Nico is a little less common.

DH and I are so used to calling our dog, Louie, by nicknames that are variations of Lou Bear (Lou B, Doo doo bear, dooby, etc..) As a joke (and half out of habit), we started calling DS, whose name is Isaac, Isey-Bear (Izey-bear? IZ-bear? NO idea how you'd spell that). Hahaha it's so stupid and ugly but DH keeps doing it now. I'm sure it will pass...
LO's name is Isla and there isn't really a way to shorten that. I call her smila (smile-ah) when she is happy and cryla when she is grumpy haha. I also call her boozey. I'm not sure where that came from!
when we came up with our little guys name we named him brody john and dh wanted to call him bj for short. some how dh has twisted it and always calls him the bromyster, i guess whatever floats his boat.....as long as i got to name him he is also know as mcstinky pants from his sisters
I think Nico is so cute! Plus I have known some pretty hellish little boys by the name of Nick or Nicky.
Since LO is Sunny, there's not really any shortened nickname. Some people ask me if her name is short for Sunshine... Um, nope. Our families like to call her Monkey Girl (I was Thunder Monkey Girl as a kid, DH was Monkey Boy). When we call her by name we usually tack something on like Sunny Bee, Sunny Girl, Sunny Day, etc. But most of the time I just call her Baby-doo lol. No idea where it came from.
LO's name is Elizabeth and I usually call her Lizzy. Other nicknames include, but are not limited to, Lizard Breath, Lizzard, Liz, Lizzy Buns, Chunkla... I'm sure there are many more.
DS is Evan. Most common NN is 3van or just 3v. I also call him my sweet sweet little pumpkin and my sister nick named him Fatty Lumpkin when he was a baby which turned into just Lumpkin and even Lumpy Buns. I can't think of his other ones but there are more.
We are huge nickname people so that is actually something we take into consideration when picking names. I don't know how many times we ruled out a name because of not having a good nickname. Like Jensen is in our top names for a boy but neither of us want to call him Jenny so that is out.
So our baby's name is Braden. Which goes to Brady, Brady baby, Brady boy, Bradikins or Brady butt. We also call him smush, smushikins, stinker, monster, monkey, munchkin, munchies and sooo many others.
We have three cats too. Xander (Xan, Xany, Xander bear, Xan Xan, bear, Bear cat), Alec (Als, Ally cat, Alligator) and Desmond(Des, Desy, Doobs, Doobys, Doobers, Dooberoni and cheese, and dreamsicle kitty).

Another like for Nico! My Little heathen is named Maggie. She gets called many things. Mags, Magster, Maggie-rella (bc her life is SO hard, just like Cinderella lol), little bird, bear, babe-a-roo, Magazine, Magenta, Magarells, that's all I can think of atm. We are a bit easy going with nicknames. I figure when she's old enough she'll let us know her preference. We do enjoy telling people her name is short for Magazine bc they always ask if it's short for Margaret and it's not.
LO name is Alexis. Always figured I'd call her either Alex or Lexi. I haven't done either yet. I mostly call her "little girl" or "nugget". For some reason at the end of my pregnancy when she was what I was affectionately calling it "clawing her way out" (super painful bh and what literally felt like her fingers scraping my cervix) we started calling her Rex due to T-Rex...lol idk. So at work she is called Rex.
I have a cousin named Sunika and she is nick named Sunny. My name is not the long version either. Everyone assumes my name is short for something.
My son is Justin Ryan so we nick named him junior. Actually before he was born and had a name we called him junior. And no my husbands name is not Justin so it confuses the heck out people. I plan on calling him J.R. when he gets older. I just started calling him justin more so he can learn his name because we always call him junior.
Nico is cute for a baby. Maybe Nick when he gets older. My son's name is Joseph and we call him Joey or sometimes Joe comes out when I am trying to get his attention. Also my husband nicknamed him "Nima". Lol long story and hoping that nickname does not stick cause people won't know what the heck we are talking about!
My FIL and I always call LO Lumpkin! Or Lump, and the rest of us are her Lump-kin... We're obnoxiously punny.
I have a friend who just had a LO named Nicolas, nickname Nico. It's cute and works.
Idris is a stand alone name so there's not really any nicknames and we often refer to him by his full name because we love the way it sounds. At his current stage, we call him baboso, which is Spanish for drooling. DH also calls him Little String sometimes (Idris Elba's character in The Wire) lol. I don't think these will last though.
We are weird and our nicknames are longer versions of names. DS's name is L and our most common nickname is Little L Middle name or his first two initials with little in front so LLS. Other nicknames include little boy, and fuss baby (inside joke based on DH not understanding when the daycare teacher asked if he was our first baby).
I vote Nick. LO's name is Rylie Nicole but we call her crazy girl, baby, baby girl, miss rylie. Others call her smiley rylie. There isnt really a nick name for her and I dont like Ry. Our dogs are a choc lab named darby that gets called doodle, darbra, deedsie, darb. Black lab named cali gets called bean, cal, cal bell.
My corgis name is Napoleon , but I call him polish sausage, and poley. My border collie is Jack, but I often call him Jack sparrow. I seem to make their names longer not shorter lol
I love Nico I named DD Francesca for my grandfather, frank, fully intending to call her Frankie. I mostly call her Francesca. If I Nn her, I call her Frankie or frank. She's Frankie to most of my family and some of DH family calls her chesca. Emmett is hard to Nn - I sometimes call him Em or Ems, but I feel bad bc they are girly. They both get called all sorts of silly names all day
