I thought it was a doctor of chiropractic or something. I'm under the impression it's not the same as med school (though many of our drs don't have phd's either).
Not knocking chiros or their training.
Hmm.. maybe not? I know she is Dr. Lastname but I guess I don't know the actual initials following.
You can be a Dr without being a PhD. Your doctor is probably an MD. In my profession, it's a Doctor of Musical Arts -- I'd still be Dr. $hell. I don't even know why I care about this. I guess I consider them all different levels kind of. I don't think my DMA is any better or worse than a PhD. It's just different.
chiawombat - I watched every episode of Bunheads. It was...interesting? I really liked Sutton Foster. I think it could have been really good if they had given it some time to develop.
I liked her too, and I liked where it seemed like the show was going. Andplusalso, I will watch Kelly Bishop in anything she ever does. She's magic.
I was bummed to see this one go, too. And agreed about Kelly Bishop. She's fabulous.
I'm fairly certain chia wombat and I are tv soul mates.
This is good. Because we can test things out for each other and feel pretty confident in issuing opinions about what the other will like. I feel like this is one of those crucial relationships that everyone must have in their lives.
Have you watched The Good Wife? That was my last binge-watch and it's great.
It's THE BEST. Even though I'm still heartbroken over last season.
And, well, Logan.
chiawombat - report back if you watch it! It's another one that I'd love to watch again for the first time. carseat - ugh, last season broke my heart too. But such a great year. The table scene/episode? One of the best episodes of TV ever in my opinion.

YES. It was so well done!
I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the show going forward, but I'm happy with the direction it's taking, even if I'm still irrationally sad about a thing on TV. They've done an amazing job continuing from that point. I love the whole cast.
I was another fan of Bun Heads. I like teenage TV just like I like young adult fiction. DH constantly makes fun of me for it. He just doesn't know what he's missing.

Degrassi?
(*she asks hopefully*)
Saying yes feels more appropriate in a FFFC thread, but yes. Up until Drake left.

It's on MTV now. Really. And it's confusing because things are happening in January but they're outside without coats. In Toronto. And it's still Toronto - they're filming at my old mall and on the street where we used to go to the bar, etc. But yeah, they're filming out of season and it's weird. Like when it was Alli's birthday last year and for her birthday her boyfriend gave her a garnet ring or something - 'her birthstone'. And she's out in a little sundress. What?
I'm putting too much thought into this. But I still love Degrassi, even though the original is still the best.
Remember when he joined the wheelchair basketball league? Oh, Jimmy...
Did Liberty keep her baby? That is about where I left off.
She put the baby up for adoption and then JT got stabbed after a dance (by a kid from the rival school). Liberty went off to college with Emma and... crap. The 'actress'.
FFTC PLUS a weird AW: I've never watched that show, even though my college roommate once brought one of The Bachelors to our dorm room. His name was Bob Guiney? And he was not nearly so cute back then.
chiawombat how do you feel about Newsroom? I still need to see the second season (so behind) but the first was great.
I *LOVED* Newsroom. The second season was good, this last one was basically tying up all the loose ends, because HBO gave them six episodes. I have a crazy love for Jeff Daniels. He is such a pro-state of Michigan guy, and such a good actor. He's the balls.
bepandnick It was gross. There are times it sucked to be on the bottom bunk.

Nooooooo. We had girls like this on our floor in first year. And that year our school admitted too many first years and they put three students in a lot of dorm rooms (yes, it was as bad as you imagine).
Oh yeah. The kid from the rival school stabs him and he and his buddy run off when they realized how far things had escalated. Liberty gets there just before he dies.

I didn't have the channel Degrassi was on at home so I binge watched it when at my grandma's house. There always seemed to be marathons. I vaguely remember the stabbing after the reminder but didn't remember he died. So sad!

I feel like I was still watching it around then! Maybe I blocked this?
This is so upsetting.
It was really sad. They set up a memorial garden for him. He and Liberty were actually going to get back together that night, and then this happened.
Here's my UO: The noob rank really doesn't bother me. I don't really feel a need to up my post count just to get beyond that status. (Although I have been posting a lot today, it's mere coincidence!)
Yes! But it's shown in parts of the US, too. It's been around for decades and it's about high school students in Toronto. It introduces new characters each season as the old ones graduate, so characters will be around for 4-5 years before moving on. They deal with big stuff - drugs, teen pregnancy, sexual orientation, suicide, etc. It's pretty good!

mamosey not old! I just jumped onto the next generation degrassi train because it was what I was first exposed to. I've seen bits of the original, too.
