Hi ladies! I've been a lurker on and off and haven't really participated much cause anytime I would think I had something to post, life or work got in the way. I also wasn't a huge fan of the bump so I hope it's ok that I join you guys now in this new space.
I'm a FTM and my boy Cooper was born 10 days ahead of his due date on October 3rd. I went back to work at the beginning of the year and Cooper is in daycare part of the week and hangs out with his grandpa the other part of the week. I'm an engineer and my husband is a nurse. We also have a dog, a cat, a Prius, a truck and a sports car.
I'm a smartass IRL so I hope that comes across in my posts. So that's all I got as my intro.....ask me anything!
Welcome. Any special meaning or reason for choosing your son's name?
Also, my daughter hangs out with her granddad during the week too. It's awesome!
we just liked cooper. we came up with a list of 10 names (all random, no special family association or anything) and each of us narrowed our choices to the top 3 names. and then we compared our lists and cooper was on both of them.
also, random unrelated facts, i was not dilated at all at my last appointment, 2 days before birth, and was mentally preparing myself to be pregnant forever. but then back labor started and got painful very quickly (good thing the hospital is 10 min away). i dilated to 8cm in something like 2hrs and then it slowed down a bit after the epidural kicked in. i'm thankful everything went quickly and i had time to get drugs, but somehow mentally i'm still in denial that this baby came out of me.
i'm also an EP-er cause of flat nipples (as witnessed by at least 5 nurses and the LC) and b/c my son likes to snack and i'd lose my mind if i had to have my boob out literally all day to let him eat at his snacky pace. my goal is to keep pumping until at least 6 months. i hope to stick it out to a year, but i'm not getting ahead of myself.
