May Book - The Golem and The Jinni Ch. 15-21

Amazing how much is going on in this section of the book. Where to start...

Chava befriends Anna when seeking advice on what to do about Michael. She eventually tells him they should remain friends (of course we know a couple chapters later she seeks him out for marriage after getting into trouble with Anna's (ex)fiancé). I guess Chava seeks marriage from Michael so he can be her master, since she feels out of control. She worries about him finding out her true self. Even though Chava is stronger than others, she acted like some others after seeing Erving strike Anna. I don't think she should feel bad about what she has done. I feel so bad for Chava. She has such inner turmoil. Do you think it was wise Ahmad took the paper from her locket? I do, especially because she doesn't know he did it versus just losing it (which yikes that could be really bad). Now Schaalman has found her and Anna is gone.

Sophia is gone and Ahmad has no idea what has happened, only we later find out she is sent away to Paris and ends up being pregnant with his baby (that she loses). Can't say that isn't the best thing given their situation. I feel so bad for Ahmad as well, he wanted so badly to be w/ Fadwa but she was bound by responsibility. He is reliving all this through his ceiling that he has created, gosh I wish I could actually see it. I'm sure it is magnificent.

Will these two ever be happy? How will there story end?

I don't see anything romantic either, maybe more companions and best friends. I can't believe Chava married Michael, I like him and it just isn't fair to him.

For some reason I dislike Sophia and I hate that Ahmad has such a liking for her. Of course I wasn't his biggest fan in the beginning either, but he is growing on me. He is so good w/ Chava, maybe more like a big brother now that I think of it.

The story can go in so many directions, so it'll be interesting to see what Wecker does.

My library copy expires in 37hrs, so I'll be reading crazy tonight.

I always turn off the WiFi on my e-reader so the book is returned but I can still read it.

That is a good idea. I don't want to rush it, but I might need a couple days to get through the last few chapters.
