My UO is that intense, gut-twisting nausea should warrant taking a sick day from work. I don't know if it's actually unpopular, or just unpopular with my DH and BF. But if all I am doing is staring at my work, and focusing on breathing to avoid vomiting all over it, I should be able to take a sick day.
(I don't know how this logic will hold up after weeks on end of nausea, but that sounds like future London's problem)
Aw crap last weekend I had a great UO and FFFC. I was very righteous in the strength of my opinion despite it's flammability. Now I can't remember it! #deardiary
Thinking about (and missing) coffee a lot lately so my UO... Tim Hortons > Dunkin Donuts > Starbucks. ...and I'm not even from Canada.
Is this based solely on coffee quality? Or total offerings?
If based on total offerings, then I totally agree with OP. But if based on coffee alone, definitely UO! Tim Horton's is awful, and as a Canadian it's basically treason to think so
I hate all the individual intro threads we have on here. I wish it was all in 1 thread. I just don't have the energy to read them, and all the responses they get. But welcome to everyone new!
I'm pissed because I did a quick run through of our taxes last night, and we are going to probably have to pay $3000. Just because we make decent money for young, 25 year olds with no dependents we have to fork over so damn much while others sit back and get thousands for having several kids while living off welfare.
I know this is probably unpopular but I need to vent. Probably going yo have to max out a credit card to pay taxes and that sucks with baby on the way. Pretty much crushed my dreams of the perfect nursery.
This entire thing reads as a humble brag. Will you not be claiming your tax return for your dependent next year so that the burden on those that don't have kids is lessened?
I read this as: Gosh, guys!!!!!11 Quit clogging up the board with your intros! But I'm going to try to sound less like an ass so...hey, welcome.
Is my interpretation right? LMK.
Kind of. It does take a little longer to find other posts when you have to go through 100 intro's. I'll just be glad when they are over
I also hate keeping up with intro posts, but that's because I am really trying to say "hi/welcome/grats" to them all. I don't want to say it to a select few. Crazy yes, but whatevs.
I know all the sticky threads we have are important, but man, they drive me nuts. Every time I log on from a computer, I hate seeing a block of stickies. I can't wait until things are normalized and we can get rid of some.

I think the combination of pregnancy hormones + antidepressants + my one cup of coffee that you can PRY FROM MY COLD, DEAD HANDS is working too well for me to be ragey about anything right now.
I'm sure this moment will pass quickly. Or as soon as the caffeine wears off.

Oh, FFS. Are we really about to have this argument? Am I the only one that saw the shit show that happened on TB several months ago when this topic was "discussed"?? POOR PEOPLE CAN'T HAVE SKITTLES, RIGHT?! Good gracious.
Do you drink non-contaminated water? Do you drive on roads that aren't collapsing? If you call 911, will someone show up at your house? #Taxes

I'm going to not even get into the political/welfare discussion here, because just wow, but tip for the future - use the IRS withholding calculator this year to estimate what your taxes are going to be, and check it a couple times over the course of the year to make sure your withholding is correct (especially if you get a bonus or raise at some point during the year). And start an emergency fund so you have some cash on hand when unexpected and urgent expenses come up. I'm a little concerned that you are maxing out a credit card to pay your taxes - to me that indicates that you are overspending and undersaving.

My only beef with the intro threads is that when a new thread is posted it puts NEW beside it even if I've never opened the thread. So now I can't tell if I've opened a thread and replied or if it's just a new thread because they all say NEW. (unless there's a way to change this?). On thedump it only said new if you had opened the thread already...
I get excited though when I see intros - MOAR BFPs!!!!
And my UO? Apparently this is an UO - I love my Tim Hortons!! Tim Hortons actually went to my husband hometown, a small city in northwestern Ontario, and knitted a hat and scarf for it, decorated the inside and outside, and called it the warmest Tim Hortons in Canada. The video makes me cry every time I watch it!

Sounds like you need to plan better for tax time and not get angry at how other people live their life.

There is indeed a way to change this. Check the tick box next to the intro threads you've replied to, and at the top of the page there is a drop down list of actions - choose "Mark as read --> Forever" and it will no longer flag any new posts.

Dream nurseries are over rated anyways ... They will end up in your bed 90% of the time ...
Sorry for the drama. I'm out. Best of luck and thoughts and prayers for healthy babies to you all!
I can't quote your original anymore because you deleted it, but if you are stuck paying at the end of the year you can talk to your work and they can adjust which tax bracket they lumped you into and they can tax you higher throughout the year. That way you wind up either not owing because they got it right, or getting a refund because they over taxed. People are taxed based on income, so if you don't like paying such high taxes maybe you should find a lower paying job because that's the only way to get out of it. So your whole post came off incredibly insensitive because I can bet you anything that the people who pay low taxes would agree in a heartbeat to pay more taxes throughout the year if it also came with a higher paycheque each week. Count yourself lucky.
I don't know if this is a UO, but I LOVE seeing pictures of ultrasounds. I saw on some board on The Dump that it was basically against nature to post one. I don't see anything weird about it at all.

I think there are 2 concerns with his. One is that, obviously on any of the IF or AL boards, ultrasound pics are a big trigger. But the concerns on those boards are, appropriately, different than the culture of a BMB.
I guess maybe people worry about pee sticks and ultrasound photos clogging up the feed and being all we see? I dunno. Maybe someone has a better answer.
