The future of monthly read alongs

Our monthly books do not seem to have a good following. Should we continue? Should we just seek out partner reads if you are starting a new book?

I haven't really been active for the past two months, just because things have been chaotic. But I plan on jumping back in next month.

I originally liked the weekly discussions, but I have found it hard to get into the flow of the book that way. I'm usually a "read it all at once" type of person. Maybe we would have better luck with monthly discussions.

I have enjoyed the weekly discussions, but I have opted out of a couple of months as the books weren't really of interest to me. I like the idea of a monthly discussion though as I tend to read all at once too and it is hard to go back and remember to only talk about a specific part of the book.

Also maybe we just keep it looser and have an open discussion thread each month instead of specific questions?

This is what I was thinking. I hated stopping after a certain spot, and then ended up getting screwed because I didn't finish before my library subscription was up and didn't finish it.

I had the same issue with library subscriptions :/

The weekly check-ins just don't work for me, but I would like monthly.

Even though I haven't been able to participate I think once a month discussions may work best. I'm hoping to be able to join in once I'm settled in at work.
