Talk me into or out of a Tula or your favorite carrier. I have a ring sling I like because it fits in the diaper bag easily. I also have a Becco Gemini that I like well enough, so what's all the fuss with a Tula?
I need to read the responses too. We have a cheapo JJ Cole (I think) one that works ok but it's a bit too constrictive for him and I can't seem to get the M right on it. Also I am sweaty.
I have a regular Ergo and I like it for the most part. I'd probably invest in something that had an option to face out though since I think DD would like that as she gets older. Honestly, I don't like baby wearing as much I thought I would . I like it sometimes when we are shopping (in the AC!), but otherwise, it's so hot where I live and it isn't comfortable for very long. Plus, DD wiggles and arches her whole body so I don't know what our deal is.
I don't have any experience with the Tula but I LOVE my Ergo 360. I've still only worn in the one position but love how versatile it is so we can change the position when were ready to. It's not inexpensive but my only regret is not getting it earlier on because I have a raging case of mommy thumb/wrist that I don't have time to address

Kind of like cloth diapers, there are a bunch of good buckle carriers on the market now that have dedicated followers. I think they're all good quality at higher price points like not the $20 whatever brand at target (beco/boba/tula/kinder pack/ergo/etc) and they win customers more based on how cute their prints are, how exclusive they are, and small features and shape/cut of the carrier which all comes down to personal preference. some are def better for bigger toddlers.
I'm on my 3rd kid with the beco Gemini and it's served us well. Am I tempted by some of the cute new prints with the other brands? Sure. But I don't need to spend the money. I've also gotten a lot more use out of my ring sling with this baby, it's been convenient to pop her in it. I haven't bothered with the moby since my first baby, I like everything else better. I have a super pretty woven wrap but I sadly don't use it much. I'm considering converting it to a ring sling (or two and selling one of em) but I'm undecided since I do like back carrying with the wrap but my baby doesn't feel sturdy enough yet for my level of experience.
Sorry no advice here. We have an Ergo, Boba Gemini, and an Evenflo...none of which had been put to use. We had him in the Boba and Evenflo once for a few mins to test them out. It's just a hassle to put him in and take him out. I'm sure it's more because I'm new to it and need more practice. I'm jealous when I see pictures of people wearing their babies! I guess I just need more practice.
Same here. LO hates all the carriers I have and cries after 1 minute. Not worth the hassle. Maybe I will try again.
I really want an ergo 360 I just don't want to spend the money. I just have my moby wrap. I wrap him in a hip carry now to do grocery shopping and that's about it. I will put him in our backpack to do the dishes and stuff because he can "stand" in it. It's starting to get annoying though because he pulls my hair while he's back there.
I have a ring sling and a Tula. Love both of them! Ring Sling was great as a newborn and now for easy ups. I keep it in the diaper bag just in case. But I love love love our Tula. I am tall and it was the best fit and most comfortable of all the carriers I tried. I don't know why people keep saying they're expensive. They're actually $10 cheaper than the Ergo 360 and much cuter. If you don't fall into the trap of buying the expensive wrap conversions or limited edition prints they are quite easy to get ahold of. Plus, if you buy cloth diapers, places like Abbyslane stocks them frequently and you can use rewards dollars towards them.
Also, you should check to see if there is a baby wearing group in your area so you can go and try on a couple different carriers before ultimately deciding. Most groups have very knowledgeable ladies that can help you figure out what you want.
I started out with a Moby, which I absolutely loved but hated wrapping in public cause the fabric always hit the dirty ground.. I transitioned to a Tula and it was by far the best thing I've done. DH wears it too. It's sooo easy to use and very comfortable to wear for hours on end. If you can get one brand new they run around $150 but depending on the design you snag, their resell value is greater. It's like investing in a baby carrier lol. Honestly if anyone were to ask me I would 100% recommend a Tula.
