So DH and I had our first RE appointment on Tuesday, and I am so glad we did.
I am new so quick recap of our situation: married 10/13, TTC as of 2/14 - which is also the last time that I cycled (this was with provera and not naturally). We are 27 and 28. I had been talking to my OB about concern of not cycling but because I had been on depo she choose to wait it out for a year following that to see if my cycles regulated. After the year they hadn't regulated and we had a follow up appointment where she said you're not ovulating here's some provera and clomid. At that point I had already been lurking here and knew how dangerous that was so I decided to pursue other testing before we made that leap and we had an HSG test. Tubes are fine, ute looks fine, confirmed PCOS diagnosis. She puts me on metformin which I have been on for about 2 weeks now.
I really liked my RE. She was very straightforward and open to all of my questions. She mentioned that she would have done some things differently than what has already happened (like actually testing for insulin resistance before prescribing metformin) but that ultimately she doesn't think it will harm anything so we're staying the course.
I have to get my blood work redone on CD3 so I started on provera to make that happen, an DH has to book his SA so that we can review all of our test results at the follow up appointment where we will come up with an actual plan.
From what the RE was saying it sounds like she wants to go straight to medicated cycles because she doesn't think I will cycle naturally but we won't know until the updated test results come in. She was also concerned about my TSH level which was at a 3.5, but that was from 12/13 so very outdated.
Now we are just waiting for AF to get the ball rolling.
Sorry, there's really a lot here. There's just so much info to take in and process.
