Hello there! I was directed to this board from GKU, and several of you probably already know me from there, but I figured I'd intro anyway.
I'm akraus; I'm 27, work in education reform, and just got married two weeks ago. The sweet baby in my avatar is LouDog, a rescue I've had for about 3 years. My husband is 31 and manages a trucking company. We are Midwesterners and love Cardinals baseball!!
Although we just got married, we have been trying for Baby #1 for about 8 months now. We were really hoping and praying for a honeymoon baby, but I can feel CD 1 coming, so that's probably not in the cards for us.
I made my way over here because I've struggled with anxiety and depression for many years. I've always self-managed with exercise and mindfulness practices, but recently decided I needed some additional assistance. My doctor put me on a low dose of Zoloft that should be safe while TTC, and since then I've felt great. I'm looking forward to giving and receiving support on this board and getting to know some of you!
Hi, Welcome to the board. I'm glad that the Zoloft is working for you. There are some ladies that practice mindfulness and might be able to give additional insight on that.
Welcome! I try to self manage as well, and it can be incredibly difficult. I've debated going back on my meds for awhile now, but I always end up saying "pfft, I'm fine!", then I have an anxiety attack a day or two later. It's tough trying to get through it on your own. Hope we can help when it's needed!

I've done this as well then quickly realized that I need to consistently stay ON my meds. No skipping. This means avoiding alcohol on weekends or for social events, but it's for the best. I really miss vodka tonics and red wine, however.
Hello! Thank you for opening up to us and I hope that we can give you some additional support and encouragement while you TTC #1, and with your depression/anxiety. I remember you posting about your wedding, and I imagine it turned out beautifully!
