G has had a cough since Saturday. Runny nose, which has gotten better, and no fever. I've been giving Tylenol but was wondering if there's something else that would help better? I'm waiting on her dr office to call back but thought yall might have some info! Thanks! !

I don't think there's any cough medicine approved for kids under two, right? (*Not a doctor.) Definitely see what your pedi says. We always just run the humidifier and keep LO hydrated as much as possible.

we gave Will Zarbees Natural Baby Cough Syrup last year when he was sick. It says safe for 2 months and up on the bottle. It's purified water, agave nectar and flavoring. I don't recall how effective it was but I hung on to it so it must have helped some.
I was told no cough meds because our kids are too young to cough anything up and meds would just supress the cough and leave gunk in their lungs. You should use a nebulizer. You can use it with saline. If its really bad your pedi can give you a prescription for meds for the nebulizer too. (My pedi gave us our nebulizer. If you dont have one maybe you can get one there? I think insurance may cover it)
Awesome thanks! We are going to use Vicks which we have been and they said to try childrens-musinex (sp). If she has another bad night tonight we will go in for a checkup.
I found steam to be the best way to loosen up M's chest when she has a bad cough. This past week her cough wasn't really too bad, but around this time last year she was sick and had a terrible cough. We stood in the shower (out of the way of the water, just to breathe in the steam) and I just stood and rocked her there for what seemed like forever. Her chest loosened right up and she actually coughed up quite a bit of gunk. It really seemed to help her sleep, which I'm sure helped her get over it more quickly
