So ladies. Walking around my yard this eve I noticed a couple icky things. Just wondering if anyone has insight as to what these things are and how to get rid of it!!!
First. On a few of our hickory trees...
It seems the younger trees have lot more of this ick.
And in my mulch on the side of the house...
Ick. Ick. Ick.
Hallllp!
Here is a bonus fun one....I'm starting a wind chime collection for our angels. ❤️
I don't know what is on the tree. It looks like you have mushrooms in your mulch. You'll want to use gloves to remove them, then throw them away in a plastic bag. As far as I know there really isn't anything you can do to prevent mushrooms from coming back, besides making sure you have good drainage.
Those appear to be leaf galls on your hickory tree leaves. I think all you can do once they are there is to prune the leaves off. There are likely sprays to prevent future growth. Maybe get in touch with a local ag extension office for advice.
Is the second picture in a damper shady garden? Looks like a mushroom or fungus to me. I get some in my shade gardens, just glove up and pull them out.

It's on the side of the house. It gets some sun but no direct. Not too damp there I don't think.
Yeah, I'll just grab it up and pitch it. Hope it doesn't come back!!
So I've seen more of those falls on the hickory trees out front now!!
Ewwww!! They are grossing me out after I fell into a google hole reading about them!!!
