It's late, but WTF Wednesday?!

Aside from it being a really busy work day it was full of triggers and wtf moments. Allow me to have a moment of word vomit because today pretty much sucked.
I woke up to find out that I was volunteered for a few things for my step-brother's baby shower this weekend. I've offered to help with specific things along the way as it's being planned, but I thought it was a little presumptuous to just assign stuff to me to do the day of, especially since I have no idea how well I'll handle the actual party.
I wrapped up my work day and got a text from my boss that she wanted to chat, which freaked me out because I thought I was being fired or something. It turns out that she wanted to talk to me when I was out of the office to let me know that she's pregnant, which was actually pretty awesome of her. She's announcing to the rest of the team tomorrow and wanted to make sure that I wasn't blind sided. While I appreciate how thoughtful she was to tell me separately, it stings a little extra hard because she's exactly as far along as I would have been. That gave me a nice little cry just before picking DS up from daycare. I'm happy for her but sad for me.
Then tonight I took DS to watch H's practice and one of the moms was having fun playing with DS and asked when we were having a second. I know she meant well and she's a really great person, but it just kind of punched me in the stomach.
So that was my day. WTF Wednesday, indeed.
