1. Yea I think its great that Caitlyn Jenner is now becoming her true self as a woman. But why the f did u wait so damn long? Your kids knew something was up when they caught you cross dressing, etc. But to live as a lie for so long and now huge kudos? I cannot imagine how tough he/she had to be to finally let this out, but dude, you had how many kids and marriages and now u decide to be a woman?!
2. My favorite food has always been eggplant parmesan. Mmmmmmm my grandma introduced it when I was little and I wish more people gave it a chance!
I don't think kiddos should access as much electronics as they do. I honestly believe that long term use does make an impact on their socialization, imagination and ability to entertain themselves. It saddens me to see a toddler watching an iPad rather than running around and playing. Little kids are meant to play! Obviously everything in moderation, we do have a TV on in our home in evening buy try to keep him away as much as possible. On that same note I don't think parents play with their kiddos enough, a child's primary language is through play. As a family therapist I'm probably pretty jaded though so take that with a grain of salt!
While I support Caitlyn Jenner it irritates me that the media and other celebrities are fawning all over her. They act as if she is the first person to ever transition. There are plenty of other transgender celebrities out there that have paved that road for her.
danizee I agree! If the TV is on, DS only wants to stare at it so we rarely turn it on when he is awake. I try to make an effort to give him my undivided attention when we are playing.
I very very strongly disagree with giving kids iPads. Why buy the most expensive tablet when kids will be just fine with a cheap android or kindle tablet.
I got stuck in the elevator this morning with someone who smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke and cheap perfume so I will once again express my distaste for scented things. I pretty much buy all unscented products. I am not allergic, I just don't like them.
ETA To clarify I don't mean letting a kid borrow a tablet that belongs to a parent, I mean buying the kid their very own $600 tablet.
I totally let my kids play with tablets in public (dr office, waiting rooms, etc.) I'm not too concerned about it. We are active people, we spend a lot of time outside, a lot of time interacting together as a family. I let them play video games at home, I've never really set a limit to screen time. We have morning chores (getting eggs, feeding chicks), making beds, tidying rooms. They play some video games, we go to the park for free lunches, come home the boys will often play outside or mil will take them in the pool, we have activities at the library, thenWe either have practices or games that keep us out for two hours to three hours, then dinner, bath, books, bed. I guess I've never been too concerned they were getting too much of anything. So I've never seen the big deal in "screen time"
Heh I had a a pacifier until I was 3. I had three actually. One in my hand, one in my mouth, one in between my mouth and nose held by the bottom pacifier. I was a little weirdo. Next time I'm at moms I'll have to find a picture. Weird, none of my kids have ever taken a pacifier.
My UO is the idea of cloth diapers disgust me. I think that I've become immune to my little one's poo and pee, but the whole idea just grosses me out. I get it's better for the environment but I don't want to spend any additional time focusing on cleaning baby poo than I have to.
Plus I'm a lazy B who has difficulty finding enough time to do regular laundry. When I get home from work I rarely do house work, I get my snuggles on with my minion.
I love love love my cloth diapers. I used disposables with my first two, and I can honestly say it's not any more work, except the extra laundry. And even that's not too bad !

I get that cloth isn't for everyone, but we do have a preference for cloth because they contain everything better. We go through fewer outfit changes from leaking diapers with cloth. I able to do a custom load on my washer, so it is one button for us. If I ha a washer where I had to manually do the extra wash and rinse I would not find it so easy.
