We bought one at Costco. We don't have a boat but we're wanting to at least rent one this summer. I didn't do much research as Costco has never let me down before and $20 was a steal.
My son is on the small end (only 12 pounds) so it was hard to find one small enough. The only place I found one was Walmart surprisingly. It served its purpose but it's huge and bulky and I could tell LO wasn't liking it. I ended up only using it when we were cruising. I took it off when we were anchored.

We have a Sam's Club by us - I didn't think to check what they May have. All those stores are the same so maybe I can get one there.

Yeah - my son is on the smaller end as well, so that is making it hard. We did find one that fits like a onsie so it doesn't rub the face. It did get good reviews. However, I have a feeling that no matter what we get he will be uncomfortable.

We got ours at west marine. Our boat was sold between kid 2 & 3. Yes infant ones are bulky, but the they have to keep the kid on top of the water face up without relying on their head support so it's to be expected. He got used to wearing it. We kept it on and buckled at all times, dock to dock. Danger isn't just when underway, there could always be a wave that could knock you off balance or worse, another boat with a drunk driver or something.

Yeah I agree - I don't care if it's bulky - it should be. I know there are a few different designs though. Plus I plan on him wearing it at all times, I agree I would not take any chances. I
That is pretty much the most popular type, it gets good reviews and keeps the baby head above water. We might end up trying this type first to see how it fits on him.
I just saw that one today at the store, do you like it? TbH we haven't used it yet. The weather in MN hasn't been agreeable to take LO boating or swimming. But I got it for $5 with tags on at a garage sale so I couldn't pass it up.
