I got an email that reminded me that baby's eye color is pretty much determined at this point. I was curious of anyone had an interesting color change.
Mobile so can't click. I'm not sure it's interesting as much as I love her eye color. But it alternates between a blue-grey to a blue-green depending on what she wears. It's gonna be confusing though to say what color her eyes are on licenses. Haha.
DS has the coolest eyes ever! They're blue on the outside with a ring of brown near the pupil. We've been calling them hazel. I really hope they stay this color.
On mobile so I can't vote, but dd are a darker blue. My H and I thought they were starting to become more hazel, but I can't tell. They'll probably stay the color they are, which is just like her daddy.
I was under the impression that some genes that impact eye color don't necessarily go "live" until close to a year, so eye color really isn't confirmed until > 1 y/o. I forget if the new color radiates from the inside out or outside in, but if I recall there is a pattern to it....
Dominant hand takes years I think....
Every single time we go out at least one person comments on how striking of a blue S' eyes are; they are somehow a brighter blue than DH's. Then people say, "omg did he get your eyes?!?!" and then get all disappointed when they seem my boring brown eyes.

My rainbow arrived 10/15/14.
5 cycles of "TTC" - 3 intentional, 2 not so intentional. 5 BFPs.
TFMC 08.02.13 at 19+ weeks. Everyday I grieve for my little Olive.

DD has the same! And there are some radiating lines of dark brown sporadically through them. I never know what to call them.

ANB has brown eyes, but honestly, they are so dark they are almost black. I heart them, even though I hoped he would've gotten my green eyes. Oh well ... maybe the next baby.
Couldn't vote twice but DD has brown and DS has blue green. We have had a bunch of appts with pediatric eye docs due to prematurity and they all said eye color is confirmed around a year- doesn't mean it can't be sooner though too I guess.
DS1 was born with blue eyes then close to a year they turned green. He's 6 now and within the last year they changed from green to hazel. DS2 was born with brown eyes and they've stayed that way. DS3 has blue eyes and I'm kind of hoping his will stay blue.

SS: I can' tell what color his eyes are! They are kind of in between a deep green and hazel. I have green eyes and DH has hazel. This is a recent change.
I think he did, but I know at least genetically we have learned more about eye color, and geneticists will say a year.
Do you think it's more likely they get light/dark or will they still change color all together? This is weird to me, I need to know. Lol
It really depends on the genes... But, generally darker, and blue can still go brown this late in the game, though I wouldn't expect a brown so deep that it looks black when we are already 8 months in, but you never know. If there are hints and areas of brown now, there's a rather high chance that they will turn brown.

From what I understand eye color can continue to change until babies are 3 years old. Even then, there can continue to be subtle changes to eye color after major physiological changes (like puberty and pregnancy). It's determined both by the amount of pigment but also the way that light reflects off the eyes. There are a ton of genes (which I know next to nothing about) that regulate these various factors that can be turned on at different times.
