So, I know a lot of you aren't doing anything special, at least that's what I gathered from the Mother's Day fall out but is anyone doing anything nice for their SO?
We are going away for a long weekend to the beach next weekend. It wasn't necessarily planned as a "Father's Day" trip, but I'm going to try to turn it into that. All that means is that he gets to pick the activities / restaurants we visit.
He was incredibly sweet to me for Mothers Day, so I'm going to try to be as nice as I can
I'm a horrible gift-giver. I wish i could make something, but I don't have the craftiness, I honestly don't have time for that shit. Something he's been wanting for year is this laser cut picture of the Chesapeake bay
... but at almost $300 - I just don't think I can swing that and have as much fun at the beach as we'd like!
I plan on making him a Father's Day gift basket with lots of manly things he likes, I'm ordering the book Just my Dad and Me by mercer Mayer, and I'm going to get a baseball and put DS' handprint on it.

Great ideas ladies! I have been trying to think of something cool but so far nada. (yes I'm also one of the cranky moms from Mother's day, lol)
Etsy had a cute engraved dog tag with fishing lure attached that had a cute message about always being daddy's little girl with her name but its way overpriced at $35.00 and the shop is now taking a break so that idea is out
Well, I WAS going to get him a Keurig, but since on Mother's Day he said that he didn't do anything for me because I wasn't going to do anything for him on Father's Day...I don't know. You guys have some good ideas, though.
I told DH before Mother's Day that his Father's Day would be determine by how good he makes my Mother's Day lol.
But I am excited about doing things for him to celebrate his first Father's Day. We went through a lot to get DS here and DH was my rock for a lot of hard times. And always put my feelings first over his for a lot. So I feel like he deserves to be celebrated and spoiled.

@beckaroo - we have a few very different pieces of Baltimore art. A abstract painting of the city skyline by a friend, a stylized painted-over photo of of the place we got engaged; water colors of an oriole and raven, blah blah. We love Baltimore. So, this would be just another style to add to our common theme.
It would also help if we had somewhere to hang it. Which we don't. It'll probably be a Christmas present whenever we move into a house.

@beckaroo - I've lived around here my whole life. Actually, when one of my BFFs was moving halfway around the world after 9th grade, we had a going away dinner for her at the HardRock cafe! But that was only in the 90s.
I don't remember the Electric factory. But now, I need to go do research on Baltimore history. From what I've read, there was an indooor Six Flags there in the 80s???

the power plant! I had the name wrong. It was very cool. I only went once.
So there are like 4 more articles on the Six Flags that was there, which is probably what you are talking about. Anyway, I never went while that was open.
But there was an ESPN zone there (it was the first of a handful that opened throughout the country). It was a restaurant/ bar / arcade (kinda like a grown up chuck e. cheese)... where they would sometime do live ESPN reporting. Twas pretty cool!
