Because we need one for middle of the night chit chat.
Does anyone else just lay in bed and cry because you're just so uncomfortable? I can't fathom having 9 weeks left right now. And everyone I talk to says, "just wait, it gets so much worse!" Thanks asshole!

Yeah, I have the big u-shaped Snoogle, too- I raise up the "arm" so I can roll myself out of bed with a big grunt... It's ridiculous. I get so bored when I wake up in the middle of the night; I stalk my Facebook local baby stuff swap sites, I go on here, I eat ice cream, I read - oh wait, pretty much what I do all day. I will be so happy when baby Jack is here- I'm so ready to have something to focus on besides myself.
This is the 3rd time DS has had diarrhea tonight & it takes me forever to get back to sleep...ugh.... All I want is one night of uninterrupted slumber
Sorry about the diarrhea. I wonder what uninterrupted slumber feels like? It's been so long... I wish I had a u shaped pillow. Mine is the c shaped one, which I love, but I wonder if I wouldn't love the u shaped one more. :-p

Unfortunately it does get worse. I took to sleep sitting up in bed with like 4 pillows behind me for the last few weeks of my last pregnancy. People do suggest try sleeping in your rocking chair or recliner, that it helps more instead of laying all the way down.
Week 16 was the last time I could perform this feat.
For all you insomniacs out there, try some Unisom. It is category A. Even if you get up to pee three times a night (like this girl), your likelihood of falling back to sleep is highly increased. It has completely changed my quality of life.

I've taken it since I was 6 weeks. It helps me fall asleep, but not stay asleep. It's worse without it, though!
It's not MOTN yet (although I have had some terrible insomnia lately) but the people who say it gets worse really are assholes. And (for us folks who get insomnia) they're wrong.
IMO it didn't get worse overall. Worse in some ways, yes, but better in others. IME you wake up more frequently (sometimes every 1-1.5 hours) to feed a fussing baby, but when you're sleeping (especially as you go past the 1.5 hour mark), you're sleeping better. I could always go back to sleep right away (because I was so tired). No insomnia, and insomnia is a mindfuck. You can sleep on your stomach if your breasts aren't engorged. You can sleep however you want. Your MOTN wakings have a well-defined purpose - they're not some random, purposeless frustration and dialogue with yourself. And for most, in the first few weeks, you're on maternity leave. No work obligations during the day. So, no - IMO this is "worse" in many ways.

I can't sleeeeppppppp So I'm awake watching my brother finish making a wave pendulum as a present for his physics teacher. This is a wave pendulum:
This is the same awesome brother who popped all that popcorn, if you remember. (as it happens, Act II Movie Theatre Butter won that little competition...)
I have enough trouble sleeping through the night without DH deciding to watch Prison Break (loudly) on Netflix at 3 in the morning. Seriously? I've now been awake for more than an hour after the TV woke me up and DH is sleeping soundly. I think it's the snoring keeping me up now. I would like just one night of actual rest, please.

Four am pee trip + too much glow in the dark green snot stuffing my head = wide awake listening to the birds outside the window (so. freaking. loud), MH breathe/snore, and my stomach growl. So grateful it appears DD has slept through the night again, though. Going to have to call the nurse line today and see what miracle drug I can take for what feels like a sinus infection that's about to break into my lungs. Blurgh.
I feel like I was up once an hour last night. I made sure to get my water intake pretty much done before 7pm and watched it after that, but still had at least three pee trips. I was tossing and turning -- I think I'm getting restless legs. Then at 5am, the bus that inexplicably stops outside our house on the street to pick two commuters up even though there's no bus stop there decided to wait at least 5 minutes with its super noisy engine running. I need the window open or else I bake, so that woke me up, and then the symphony of birds, pigeons and the like didn't let me get to sleep again. I got up with DH at 6, had breakfast, peed for the trillionth time, then tried to go back to sleep for round two. Got 4 hours, which was glorious.

this makes sense, I have been taking my straight cheap body pill and wrapping it around my head neck and shoulders and using it like a " husband" pillow to keep the reflux down. Is it okay that I posted during waking hours?

8 more weeks, 8 more weeks....
This. I got back to sleep fine each time but peeing at least 4 or 5 times. I just don't understand. The upside the scale was a bit more forgiving the morning.
I just woke up with an almost Charlie horse in my calf and now I'm too scared to go back to sleep. Those things are mean. So now I'll just lay here and stew about what we're going to name this little girl.
