DH put a lot of thought into mother's day so the pressure is on! He loves wearing a robe around the house, but his thick fleece one is too hot hot summer, so I got him a lightweight cotton robe. He mentioned there is usually a father's day sale for mlb TV (subscription baseball thing) so we will get that too.
Yes! Thank you for starting this thread! DH just wants to hang out at home that day, so I think I'm putting together a basket for DH with the theme - for work, for rest, for play.
For work - Since he's starting a new job that will require dressing up every day, I'm getting him a few ties, some socks, and a set of cufflinks. Also got a travel coffee mug with pics of him and DS together since he lost his old thermos.
For rest - He really wants a new pillow, so that and some blackout curtains to sleep better during the day.
For play - I got my brother to sell me his PS3 for cheap since ours is busted, so that plus a new video game and some condoms.
I am getting DH a new grill. Ours busted last summer and 1. I miss grilled foods (baked and crock pot chicken just isn't the same!) 2. DH misses having a good grill.
Plus it was his idea to invite his whole family (16 people just for immediate family) over to GRILL for Father's Day. I just have to figure out how to buy it without him finding out beforehand (we have a joint bank account).
I still have my savings acct from before we were married. It comes in handy at times like this, also my husband spends money like crazy, so I like to have the extra security
DH said he needs/wants a hatchet, so that's what LO is going to get him. I'm hoping his plan is to use the hatchet to finally do something about this pile of branches in our yard, and isn't wanting to go all Lizzie Borden on me.... :/
I think we're giving Dh his tattoo he wants to get in honor of LO. Would I be a horrible mother if I took LO to the tattoo shop too? Otherwise Dh is going alone. I'm also getting him a book he wants.

I just ordered a photo book with all my fave prints of LO off of shutterfly. That'll do as a Father's Day/bday gift. His bday is a couple weeks after Father's Day so.
I actually got his gift in the mail yesterday...and already gave it to him. I was just so excited!! We agreed nothing too big for Mother's or Father's Day so I got him a tshirt that says "Jedi Master (Husband's Name)" and a matching onesie that says "Jedi Padawan Braden". He was really excited about them. I got them from Etsy. If anyone is interested, they have tons of daddy/baby outfits.
rshamos4eva Thank youuuu, you just made me remember that DH wants an actual straight razor. I'm going to get him a nice safety razor instead, but still.

Loving the ideas here. We went to the movies for mother's day but no gifts or anything. I want to get or make him something really great since he's been spending a lot of time with DS during the week. (His shift rotates so he watches him during the day while I'm at work). I saw a woman and her kids at a photo studio getting pics down. In each one they held up letters and a heart so they spelled out "WE DAD" in diff frames. It was cute.
My DH loves puzzles, and he hasn't gotten any new ones in forever. So I am getting him a really hard new puzzle and making him kid free hour coupons so he can spend some time puzzling (nerd alert I know). The kids are going to get him the Jimmy Fallon book called Your baby's first word will be Dada, since he keeps trying to convince that dada will be their first word.
Haha. I'm not doing anything for DH. He's not a sentimental kind of guy and he didn't do anything for Mother's Day, so nothing for him. (Sorry if that sounds completely bitchy)
I'm in a similar boat. He bought himself some headphones for when he's drawing at work, and I told him happy Father's day when they came in the mail.
This is my life. I didn't get a Christmas gift or Mothers Day gift. I keep track of that shit and will be cashing in on the guilt trip sometime this summer. In other news I bought a Go Pro camera for DH for Fathers Day/Bday combo (its July 4th). But I have it stored with the receipt just in case he gives me a reason to return it.
Ha! Get the DHs grills so they could cook for the ladies. Lol
My husband is not one bit the sentimental type either. We normally don't do anything big for the holidays bc we usually just get what we want throughout the year anyway. When the holidays come around there isn't anything else that we may want at the moment. It's funny bc sometimes he would get tell me to wrap up random stuff we already have for Christmas so we have something to open up bc we usually do a big Christmas celebration at our house with the in laws and open gifts on Christmas Eve. He feels bad if I don't have anything to "open" in front of everyone. Lame, I know. I don't know where I'm going with this rambling. Lol. Anyhow, this year, I asked if there was something he wanted. There are two.
A) PS4...we have the 3. Works perfectly fine. B) Large tool box to consolidate all his tools into one.
I'm going with the latter bc he's been wanting this for a while.
I got the ps4 for mothers day... Yea, right, for me. ... DH used mothers day as an excuse to get it. He didn't even get me a game for it, he got DS and himself a game. And yes, both of our PS3s work just fine. (We both had our own PS3s from before we were married )
Eta, I'm thinking of doing a picture magnet of LO that he can put on his toolbox at work, but I still haven't ordered it. I wonder if it will come on time. I've been so focused on DS birthday party which will be the day before father's day.
So I wanted to get dh a nice frame w a pic of the two of them. Yeah there are none.. .wtf. I said something to him about it and he was like yeah there won't be. I'm not a fan of pic either but cmmonnn
You guys have some great ideas!! Now I'm torn on what to actually do! I do know that I'm going to make a stepping stone with lo's hand and foot prints on it... Guess I have a week to decide on the rest!
For DH I'm getting him the extremely lame gift (but one he wants) of slippers- that's a total dad gift, right?! I'll do something more fun with it. For my Dad we ordered a cheese basket from Harry and David- he's helped us a ton around our house this year so we wanted to do something extra. I had the worst time coming up with gifts though... Dads are hard to shop for!
DH is really handy and loves all the tools. I ordered this hammer from someone locally and will give him a gift card to Home Depot so he can get the next best thing. Win for me is he builds me stuff- currently finishing living room built ins (aw will be soon to come )
Thinking of ordering a custom baseball glove because H plays softball and baseball. Likely balt orioles colors, now to find out the specifics...
I'm not sure how much you are looking to spend, but there is a company called 44 gloves and they are pretty awesome. You can completely customize it. DH ordered his nephew one and it's awesome.
That's the site I was recommended! Good to hear u have experience with it. There are entirely too many specifics such as size and type of netting so I need to sneak a peek at H's or just give him the gift of choosing his own : /
Hubbs is getting two new pairs of shorts, a watch and a machete. I'm hoping the machete motivates him to clean up the yard. I'm also planning to do a minion craft that I found on pinterest. Hubbs loves fishing so this caught my eye:
I attempted the "hooked on daddy" craft today with LO. She would not open her hand all the way so it looks like she only has 3 fingers, but whatever, I'm going with it lol. Also going to do photos with LO holding the letters D, A, D that someone else mentioned. Hoping that one will be more successful.
