So I've been wondering how much on average do you feed your LOs with formula? My LO gets about 4 oz. per feeding and most times he finishes the whole bottle, but he is still eating every 2 hours during the day. Do you think if I increase how much formula I feed him (6-8 oz?) then I can stretch out the feeding to 3-4 hours apart?
LO started going longer between bottles when he started eating more. He now eats between 6 to 8 ounces every 3 or 4 hours. He just seemed to want more so I increased it. We still just feed lo when he wants to eat though, so even if it's fewer than 3 hours I will feed him.
It feels like a dumb question because obviously he eats 8 oz in a 4 hour span now. I guess I was just afraid that even if I gave him more he'd still be hungry 2 hours later. I've tried giving him more before when he seemed hungry then he just spit up a lot afterwards. This was maybe a few weeks ago to a month. Maybe I'll just try it again and then have to stretch out his next feeding time.
ETA: I can stretch out his Feedings more when we are out and about, but not when we are home. Weird?
We feed every 4 hours, 4 times a day. Right now he gets 6oz at his first morning feeding and then 8 oz every 4 hours until his last feeding (total 30oz for the day, if he takes it all - sometimes he leaves an oz or two in the bottle) . He was doing 9oz in the morning, followed by two 8oz bottles and ending with a 9oz before bed (total 34oz for the day). But as he eats more solids he has taken less formula and we've just followed his lead. We do schedule feed him and he is so used to it that he never acts hungry between the normal feeding times.
