Talk me off of a ledge- a gif story

I'm having a serious AL momma moment. Does anyone else just have such irrational fears about their rainbow they just consume you sometimes? I'm all like this right now






So DD has a milk allergy...it was very subtle in that the rest of my family thought I was insane by saying she had one, but she had thrown up yogurt 3 hours after the one time she ate it, and the couple times I gave her cheese she got exactly one tiny hive each time. Okay so we get her tested, and damn it, I am right. 



But I didnt really want to be right ya know? So fast forward to now. DD is still getting hives or what I think are hives sometimes when she eats. Again only one maybe two small spots I've been driving myself crazy trying to eliminate and figure it out bc DH thinks I'm crazy and we dont have the money for all that testing. 



So I'm over here crying because I just gave her dinner and she has a big ole red spot above her lip


And I just keep trying to tell myself she'll be okay. She's not going to die, she'll be okay, and I really need someone to do this

Does anyone else get this way about their rainbows and their well being? Help me....I'm insane.

First of all, hugs to you. Second, I get this way because I'm an anxious person who works with sick babies for a living. Lastly, food allergies can be really scary and many parents have shared their fears over the unknown. I hope her allergist will provide her with a good plan.

Thanks for the hugs...Im mostly just worried that maybe she has another allergy that I dont know about since I'm real careful to make sure she doesnt get any milk products.

Big hugs. We all get the crazies. I don't know a ton about allergies but I do know you are being a very careful and watchful momma and that's gotta count for something. Sounds like not much with slip by you. I second talking to the pedi and ask about warning signs and what would cause the most extreme reactions (like peanuts) so you can be extra careful around those right now.

*hugs* Olivia is only 12 days old and I def have irrational fears. sids is my obsession at the moment. I hope you get to the bottom of what is causing her hives. I think being worried makes us great mamas bc it shows how much we love our LOs.

Sending you hugs. The unknown is so scary. We have just started DS on solids and I am so scared I am going to miss some sort of reaction to something. Hopefully you can talk to your pedi and they can help you solve the problem!

I understand where you are coming from with the fear. Every time I give L a new food I watch her like a hawk to make sure she doesn't react. I hope y'all get to the bottom of what's causing her reaction. Hugs!

Huge hugs love!!! You might remember I have anxiety issues and I do get like this from time to time over LO. I think its normal with everything we went through to have them. I don't know much about allergies but do they usually grow out of them? What are you giving her instead of cows milk? I think a friend of mine is giving soy. I can find out for sure but was just seeing what you were doing.

We are trying to give her soy milk but she isnt a huge fan. She is still nursing, because my kid is an addict and won't give it up. LOL I've wanted to start weening slightly but she won't let me.

Thanks ladies. I think my fear comes from my nephew being allergic to peanuts and eggs, and now she actually does have one allergy and still seems to be getting hives and I'm freaking myself out trying to figure out why. She's been getting hives since she was 2 months old when she would nurse and everyone. I would just get the whole gambit of allergy testing done if I could just afford it but I'll definitely bring it up to her pedi again. Just cant decide if I should wait the next month and a half until her well visit.

I also have a huge fear of this.  My pediatrician recommended smearing a tiny amount of peanut butter on his gums (not 5pm on a Friday, obviously).  If he were to have a reaction, it would just be his lips instead of him actually ingesting it.  I'm still too scared to try, but it makes sense.
