DS is -Isaiah Christopher , hubby picked the first name I liked Isaac and Elijah more but love Isaiah now. Christopher is a family name. LO - Ivy alba always loved Ivy he had less then zero say . Alba is my moms name. We both like classic ish names nothing too trendy. We also don't like names that don't fit and adult like some off those super girlie names that you should only name your teddy bear. I think we're good with the name Ivy since everyone says it's an old lady name and she's only six months lol. For this LO haven't even thought about it yet but our list for LO included Malika -dh Bianca- both Isabella - both Elijah - me Idris- both Isaac - me Can't remember the rest

mlee116chicorojohappyfeet9 Thanks for giving me internet stranger validation that I picked the right name for my LO Seriously though, thank you. One of my coworkers started randomly talking shit about the name Sunny before he realized it was the name of my baby, and everyone else looked mortified. I put him in his place REAL quick, but afterwards I was paranoid that what he said was secretly how everyone around me felt about it.

I had to do a double take. I thought Eldrey was Elderly.
She's an older woman, I'm guessing late 50's. But she's very stylish and knowledgeable.
To add to my previous post, there are few names I couldn't get used to. For example, our friends named their girl Maggje. My first reaction was the name was too cutesy and not appropriate for an adult. Then I realized I knew two adult Maggies and never once thought their name was inappropriate. It is their name so it suits them.
If you haven't figured out by now, I'm a fence walker. I try not to ruffle feathers and truly believe to each his own.
That said, I like classic names. I love the name William but with our last name, he'd sound like a sleazy used car salesman. And it's too popular right now. Michael, Lucy, and Eleanor are high on my list, too. And my doll's name was always Emily growing up. Talk about classic and popular!

Yes to Idris! I like the name Elijah too, it would be in the running in the future if we have another boy, but Elijah is very popular around here. Isaiah, Ivy, and Idris sounds like an awesome sib set =D

We had chosen the name Elliott if DD was a boy. I’m probably OAD so we aren’t thinking about future children’s names. If we could and did have another baby girl we liked Lillian, Belen (I’m Puerto Rican and my mom insisted we have a Spanish name as one of our choices) or Elsie. Coincidentally a friend had a girl recently and named her Elsie so that option would now be dropped. DH and I has no other options for a boy besides Elliott, and I can’t come up with any names I’d like for a boy. Just Elliott.
If we ever have a girl she will be named Sadie after my great grandmother.
The plan for DS's middle name was originally Emerson, but we chose a family name instead. I am trying to convince DH to add Emerson to the first name list, but he isn't a fan.
I love Emerson as a boys name ! I wish people would quit naming their girls that.
The name we originally had for DD was super trendy - I guess. It was meaningful for us, but the more I said it out loud and thought of future job applications, I couldn't do it. It was Alabama Presley. Hubs was born in Alabama and we lived in tn when she was conceived (Elvis). She would have been Allie Anyway. Her name later changed a million times. We went into delivery with Hannah Elizabeth, Elizabeth Ann or Francesca Elizabeth as options. One look and she was for sure a Francesca.
If Emmett were a girl, I liked Emilia and Eloise
For Emmett we didn't discuss names until around 34 weeks. Our short, very short list was Nathan, Beau, Dexter and Emmett

Ooh names. I love names and I was just thinking about this the other day. I like a lot of names but my tastes are very particular when it comes to naming my own. With a few kids it seems to narrow things down... Sibsets aren't the be all end all but I also wouldn't want someone to be the odd man out. All three of mine have 2 syllable names 4-6 letters. To me, they all have a certain feel-- fresh, peppy, a little spunky, not extremely common but familiar. I used to have long long lists but my lists seem to be getting shorter. Which is good because I don't even know if we'll have another kid.
mgk207 love love love Harriet ! It was in my list too, nn Hattie !
My great grandmother was Harriett, called Hitie (like Heidi). I used to think it was awful and matronly, but I really like it now, and it's meaningful.
I love names that mean something, plus she would probably be one of the only Harriet's in her school.
We were between Beckett and Logan. We chose Logan but going into delivery I wanted Beckett. I took one look at him and he was absolutely a logan. Now I don't even know if I like the name Beckett anymore. It's a bit hipstery and it's very odd but I've heard of like 5 other people named Beckett in the past few months. I like lots of girls names and it was super hard to find any kind of boys name we both liked. For girls I liked Finley Louise or Rae, Abigail Rose (DH liked that Abby Rose sounded like abbey road lol) and a few others I can't remember now. Finley was my number one choice.
chicorojo @txaggie08 mgk207 thank you!!!! I love her as a friend but I question that name choice. Her other kids' names aren't that obscure....but poor baby girl Wallis. DH said it's an old mans name.
Yikes. That's exactly what I was going to say. That's like naming a daughter Ernest or Walter.
To be fair, I do know one famous Wallis. That is the name of the American woman who was involved with the British king. He abdicated his throne so he could marry her since she was previously divorced. Kinda romantic really. So that would be the current queen's uncle.
I remember being all excited going into one of these threads on the bump. And then reading about how everybody hated my baby's name that we had had picked out for years. Made me feel kinda hurt so I really don't like picking names I don't like because someone probably loves that name for her baby. Except for chicorojo's list. That's just terrible.
Anyway, I think I've said this already, but the baby is Braden nickname Brady or Bradikins. We picked it because we loved it and his middle name is my dad's middle name.
I love girl names. I could name a girl a thousand different names. Boy names are hard. My husband and I were only positive about Braden. If we have another boy we are going to be hard pressed to agree on something. If we do have a girl, her name will be Elanor Marie. Elanor after Sam's first daughter in LOTR and Marie is my mother in law's middle name.
