My menopour also burns. I am on my third day of injections. It helps me to ice the area before H gives me the shot. I am on Follistim and Menopour right now.

No experience here with injectible, but I wanted to say I'm sorry you are going through this. The first time I got my trigger shot I was SO freaking sore I couldn't lay on my left side or back for 3 nights. It sucked! I hope your pain goes away soon!

Sorry. I haven't done those meds but I have done blood thinner shots for way too long and find that if you rub ice on it first and then do the shot it helps. I also was told to rub the spot afterwards and it helps as well. GL

fluffydamn the first day stung and went away after a little while the 2nd Didnt sting at all. 3rd day only stung while injection.
Follistim is a follicle stimulating hormone. I think it is just another brand like Gonal-F. I am still new at this and still learning things. If I am wrong please correct me. At least it it in this easy pen form and it doesn't burn for me when it is injected. I will add in Ganirelix some time next week (tentative start date for day 6 but it all depends on my blood work and ultrasounds).

Ice can help. Also, is bravelle refrigerated? I did Gonal but was told to take it out of the fridge about 30 minutes prior. I never had the burning thing, only a few times. I've heard it's common with menopur but I guess I was speshul.
No it doesn't have to be. And definitely going to ice tomorrow.

Sorry for the burning. I have never used menapur but I used bravelle and it stung quite a bit. I think I remember lemonliz saying that it is not necessarily the medication itself that burns, but the sodium chloride it is mixed in that causes the burning. I also recommend ice as it helped me a lot.

YES stinging sucks! I was so shocked when the first Bravelle shot hurt so bad that I curled up in bed and whimpered in self-pity for awhile.
rainbowbridge14 I think it was sweetly advised me to ice it first. I use a piece of butterfly-shaped ice every time now and it really helps me feel better about the "booboo"!

Yes, true! My nurse had me mix Menopur with only half of the sodium chloride solution (0.5cc) and it never burned/stung at all. Just a teeny tiny bit when I injected it but then it disappeared right away.
