Yeah, I have a Clomid question. Sorry. How much pain is too much? I finished my first round of Clomid yesterday. I had pain around my right ovary (I think) the first two days. I'm not sure why the pain is back. It's on both sides now and the pain comes and goes. My right side hurts a bit more than the left. I don't have to go to the ER but I'm curled up in the fetal position and can't sleep. Does this seem abnormal? I know to expect some pain. I have my ultrasound on the 28th.
Side note, I'm so bloated and nauseous I'm not sure how I'm going to let h near me.

You should probably talk to your doc about what might be normal or not normal in terms of pain and how best to manage it. I would imagine the pain is back because the meds stimulate hormones that lead to follicle development - ovulatory pain can happen before, during and after ovulation, which is why it's not a primary fertility sign. I get pretty bad ovarian pain some cycles, so I'm sorry you are in pain. Sex is rarely on my want to do list when it happens. Try some tylenol and a heating pad for now and if your doc has an off-hours number, call them. If not, call first thing in the morning. Are you being monitored at all?
FWIW, when I have the really bad ovulation pain, heat helps and as for sex, we have to be creative with positions to ensure there is no pressure on that side or I can't do it.

Call your RE 1st thing tomorrow. Do they have an on call? If it gets any worse, you should call/go in tonight. I hope it goes down and you can get some sleep.
Chances are it's nothing and may not be related to the meds at all, but it's something they need to know about.

In addition to the previous posts I would just say to be sure to call in the morning because you could be developing a large cyst. When I was on clomid last time, instead of releasing an egg my follicles grew and turned into a cysts which then ruptured and the pain put me in the ER. This time around I am getting some pain and soreness, but nothing like before. I hope you find a way to ease the pain right now. It definitely sucks.

I had some pain during my Clomid cycles, for me it was just follicles developing. But it could be a cyst or something more serious, regardless, like GM said, your RE needs to be aware of it. I would definitely call first thing in the morning & ask to have an ultrasound. I hope you can get some sleep tonight.

Thanks guys for your help. I went to the RE for an ultrasound. Apparently I'm a wimp (my words), and I'm just about to ovulate. They said I'm probably not used to it. But I have a nice follicle on my left side.

I wouldn't say you are a wimp - ovulation pain can be excruciating! I was lying on my side whimpering at one point this cycle. Glad you've got a good follie and it's not a serious complication. GL!

I'm glad it wasn't anything, but better to be safe. I wouldn't call you a wimp. I found ovulation pain on Clomid (& Femara) to be much more painful than without the meds.
