My two are two years apart, but we just got a baby trend sit n'stand off Craig's list and love it.
Our girls have shared a room since dd2 was sleeping mostly through the night. Dd1 transitioned into a big girl bed while I was pregnant and the baby is in the crib. You'll probably want to have a second crib, but each kid is different with when they need to transition for safety due to attempted escapes.
We did set up a secondary changing station (pad, pail, and supplies) in another room so we could change both diapers at the same time etc.
I was totally kidding @kelsz12 and not making fun of you! It really does make sense to have two of most things especially if you will have separate nurseries.

You will want two changing stations. We cloth diaper and for 6 months we've had a changing station set up in each room (size appropriate diapers and wipes), but only one diaper pail and set of diaper creams. It's annoying when they are different sleep schedules or when a kid has a rash but the cream is in the other room.
I keep putting off purchasing a double stroller. Before I know it summer will be over and I won't need it! When we take family walks, DS uses an umbrella stroller and DD gets the luxurious jogger. If I go for a walk with both kids, I wear DD. But I do not recommend this set up. I would prefer a double jogger but those are expensive so I just haven't bought a double stroller yet.
Something else to think about is a highchair. Graham can be sitting at the table in a booster seat by the time the baby starts solids, but if you choose not to, you'll want two highchairs so they can both eat at the same time. My advice would be to avoid two highchairs:)
If you use car seat mirrors, you'll need to buy more because both kids will be rear facing at the same time.
I only have one baby, but I do have 2 changing stations...in the nursery, I have a dresser top thing that fits a changing pad and supplies, and I also have PnP set up downstairs that still has the changing station attached with baskets for supplies on the side...both get used quite a bit throughout the day. May be overkill having two changing table set ups, but comes in very handy when my mom or MIL babysit so they don't have to go upstairs with LO, and I never run out of supplies!
...and I also have found myself daydreaming if I have another, the PnP could go in my room and new baby could sleep/be changed there so LO has nursery to himself...and of course in my daydream, I become a SAHM so no need for babysitters...

eliz77, We had the same setup until we needed to pack and play for a primary sleep surface for LO. Now, I have a basket downstairs that includes diapers, wipes, and a sheet saver that I use as a changing pad, and do diaper changes on the couch or floor. I love having a station upstairs and one downstairs!
@kelsz12, not speaking from my own experience, but from my sister's, a second monitor could be helpful!
To piggyback off the monitor comment, we got one that we view from smartphones/tablet and you can hook up more than one camera to be viewed on split screen. At least, that's my understanding, we only have one so far.

We got a joovy sit and stand. The "stand" seat has a buckle for the kid sitting facing you. This is the most compact 2 kid stroller we could find. We have two changing stations. Each kid has a set up on their dresser. We only have one diaper pail (DD is potty trained now, but wasn't in December), and made sure all stinky diapers made it to the pail because their rooms are so close together. We still had DD in her crib to help her feel like she had her own space. And also got a different rocker for LOs room for that same reason, so she could keep hers.
So we have both a tandem stroller and a side by side jogger for the twins. The jogger we use for our neighborhood the tandem we use in public since I have noticed when you aske people to get by they rarely leave enough room for the side by side. (Baby Trend Expedition and the Chicco Cortina Together are the two we have)
That being said you he lots of options. I know a lot of moms love the City Select line of double strollers. Graco has the Ready 2 Grow Click Connect for a tandem option and then the Fastaction Duo for side by side that also has the click connect technology for the infant seat. Also for double jogging strollers if you want to go the way of having the BOB duallie you can get an adapter for the infant seat.
Also I just realized what a huge double stroller nerd I am- but I spent forever doing research while pregnant with the twins lol. So hopefully some of that info helps you out.
I just wanted to chime in and say I have never changed DS's diaper anywhere but the changing table when we are at home. I prefer to have diapers in a single location vs all over the house, but our house is not huge.
I would probably doing a changing pad on top of a dresser for baby #2.
I'd probably do a main changing area in the baby's room and then a backup station in my room, your DS's room, or LR with a few diapers for each kid. By that time, your DS will be 1 or so and won't require many MOTN diaper changes so you'll be able to use the table for most daytime diaper changes, but you'll have supplies just in case the baby is sleeping.
erien22846 brought up a good point about high chairs. My friend's girls are close and she had two, but they took up a lot of space. I'd probably transition your older child to a booster or get one of those chairs that bolts onto the table.
I would do 2 cribs. Your DS will still be in his for awhile and by God, you'll want him contained for as long as possible
Only 1 babe here but we have the city select and loveee it! We easily add the 2nd seat when my nephew (he's 6 weeks older than DD) is with us. So easy to push and maneuver in places like the mall.

This is SO helpful!!!! Thank you so much!
You're welcome! Also on the changing table note, our babies share a room. But we have changing stations all over our house. In their room, our room, and one in the living room downstairs (the pac n play changing table). This works bets for us so that we don't have to walk away and leave one baby while we change the other. I just just got he Diaper caddy things and filled them with supplies, in our room we just have the little folding changing mat that we throw on our bed. The other thing I can't recommend enough with two kids is baby wearing. Especially when my DD was struggling with reflux it allowed me to calm her but still get stuff done.
I am trying to think of any other must haves but I can't right now.

I honestly change wherever is convenient! The PnP set up is more for whoever is watching LO so that they can easily change and have all his stuff where they can find it without needing to go upstair to nursery plus LO loves playing in PnP now so his toys are there, too. I thought I would have little use for it at 1st and was annoyed when we came home from hospital and it was in the way in living room. Now I love having it!

My girlfriend has Irish twins and she has a Phil&Teds Classic stroller with the jump seat attachment. I've pushed it around and it's pretty cool. Little spendy new but she bought the stroller at a consignment sale and then bought the double seat kit.
Francesca was 21 months when Emmett was born. Much further apart than yours, but still two babies. We have two rooms, but put Frankie in a bed (mattress on the floor) around 18 mo so Emmett would have a crib. I know we are making fun of the furniture attachment, but for the sake of Francesca not wanting what Emmett had, we moved her stuff out of her room and got her big girl furniture. Bc they do actually get attached/get jealous. I never used my changing table. It was in her bedroom and I just changed her in the living room where we were most of the time.
As for stroller, I have a double stroller that was a hand me down from a sister in law. I would like a sit and stand. But that won't work for you yet! I definitely suggest a double stroller! Crib when it was hers
