What do you do with your older child/children when you feel awful?
I have a 20 month old and watch a 8 month old and when it hits I can usually use YouTube for mine but the baby cries if I try to contain her in a pack n play.
I hate using TV all the time so I need ideas please!
I'm not feeling sick yet this time around, but when I was feeling icky while I was pregnant with DS and had to take care of DD, I took Zofran. I think it's not recommended for pregnancy anymore, but phenergan is still ok. If you're feeling really bad and not opposed to taking meds, you could ask your doctor about that.
Are you vomiting or just feeling icky that you need to just lie down? I haven't had anything bad enough that I haven't been able to keep going and push through. But maybe some sensory bins, water play, play dough, outside play? I know those still require some supervision and general awareness but might be something to keep the 20 month old busy for a while. Give the 8 month old something you don't normally, cups, spoons, bowls, pots and pans, that might keep him/her occupied a bit, assuming he/she can sit up and play.

I turn the tv on Disney Jr and lie down on the couch. I can usually trust her by herself for a few minutes if I need to go vomit. Our living is room is closed off from the rest of the house by a baby gate that she can't open or climb, so she can play or color all she wants while I lie down.
I'll be asking my RE for phenergan tomorrow at my appointment, but that stuff knocks me out. I'm severely allergic to zofran.
I'm not sick enough to need a prescription, and I'm not vomiting, just the general need to sit/lie down feeling.
I could do the sensory bins and entertain dd, but the baby would get into them too. She gets into everything and puts everything in her mouth. She seriously found a single grain of rice I didn't sweep up. DD never was like that. lol. So that makes things challenging since it has to be something safe for her too since she's going to get into it.
Our house is pretty babyproofed. I just shut the hallway doors to the bathroom/bedrooms and keep cabinets locked and any that aren't are fine to get into. Our house isn't an entirely open concept (the wall between living room covers 2/3 of the room if that makes sense) so although they are safe I don't like to let the baby out of my sight for long.

I was going to recommend the inflatable pool for a ball pit/play area. I'm not sick yet, but I'm feeling pretty woozy. I have a 6 1/2 month old, so I'm petrified of getting the debilitating fatigue I had when I was pregnant with him. Is the 8 month old too old/big for a jumperoo? My LO still uses his, but I don't know how long they like them. Good luck!
I'm a little nervous to get morning sickness as bad as I did with DD. I think I'm going to call my on tomorrow to get a prescription of the phenergan (sp?) That someone mentioned earlier just in case.
