I could care less about the Super Bowl this year.
Both teams that are in it make me yawn. Seahawks already won last year, and I've always disliked Tom Brady and The Patriots. (And I'm not at all surprised about "Deflate-gate" either).
I guess this year I really will be watching it just for the commercials.

I haven't kept up with football in so long. I used to love it when I was younger because I was a cheerleader but I just watch for commercials now and sometimes the half time show.
I think the people pissing and moaning over the Pats cheating are just sore. I am sure every other team out there cheats. I am sure these balls are not the only ones that have been under inflated. If we want to curtail cheating then the NFL needs to stop handing out wrist slaps for it. A fine is not going to affect the Pats. They have oodles of money. Losing a draft pick isn't going to hurt them much either.
And deflated balls aside, the Pats still out scored the Colts 28-0 in the second half, after the deflated balls removed. So yeah, they would have won anyway.
What's lame is that they cheated when they obviously didn't need to. They clearly were the better team.
I hate going to the movies, and really don't like movies in general. Sure, I've got my top five. But if we aren't talking about The Princess Bride or Raising Arizona, then I just lack the requisite attention span to remember the characters or the plot. I either fall asleep, zone out, or have to get up. I'll agree to go and pretend to watch, to be nice. But I can't engage in much discussion about it when I wasn't all there. It makes my husband sad.
zengal I'm kinda the same way. If you catch me on the right day, and it's a really good movie I can get into it. But generally, meh. It drives my husband nuts.

I'm in this group too. I'll go to the movies once every other year? Maybe? And even the. It's just to eat popcorn.

Yeah, that's how I feel too. The sad part is that I live in WA, so I should be excited like everybody else.
I can't wait to move my girl to her own room. She's loud and grunty.
We only have Gio in our room (in his rock n play) on weekends that we have SD with us. When she isn't at our house, he is in their room, in his crib or RnP. I sleep like crap with him in our room, cause he makes so much noise...even when he is sleeping he is loud.
mander82 I think I probably irritate her as much as she irritates me with sleeping in our room. Every time she grunts I immediately get all up in her face to get her binky back in. My guess is if she just grunted it out herself she'd sleep better too. Oh well. This is how it has to be for now and who knows, maybe when she CAN be in her own room I'll miss her.
I see nothing wrong with the bebe bottle swing so long as it's used with common sence. i.e. you don't use it while driving and you are keeping in eye on them.
I love going to the movies, it's probably my favorite thing ever. I get really into the Golden Globes, and especially the Oscars. When they announce the noms for Best Picture, we try to watch them before the awards show if we haven't seen them already. My sister and I used to always go when we were younger, it's just something that I've always done.
my UO: I hate how many "baby's first christmas" ornaments I got this year. I just felt like this was something DH and I should get ourselves, especially since he is our first. and in the case of the one my stepmom bought, cheap and impersonal (I also do not like her so... haha).

I felt the same way about DD's Christmas outfits. Yes, they're cute and it'd hard to resist, but I didn't get to buy one outfit because other people (grandparents and great aunts) bought her a total of FIVE outfits. She didn't even wear all of them and it felt like such a waste if I went and bought some myself.

^This. We got like 5 ornaments, it was ridiculous. I was able to get the Christmas/Thanksgiving outfits myself, but we're having a problem with my MIL and clothes. when they were here right after he was born, I said he didn't need anymore clothes, maybe one or two outfits 6-9+ (and if you think about what season it'll most likely be when he wears those sizes, theres not a lot of warm weather options out right now), but he has no toys or anything to play with as he grows. So when they came to visit for new years with his Christmas presents, sure enough I got nothing but clothes and in one size, all tags already off. So Henry has about 30 short sleeved onesies and dozens of other outfits (strangely no sleepers, we bought those) all in size 6mo. I mean, she must have spent close to 200 on these clothes. I was like, you couldn't buy various sizes at least?
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the clothes, but I'm with you on the waste. He doesn't go through that many clothes, and he won't wear most of them. I do plan on donating most of them when he outgrows them, so at least it'll help someone else out.
Edit: I said DH's MIL when I meant my MIL....yeah, I need a nap.
