Re: leaps. This leap is "categories". They are supposed to start learning how to bucket similar thing together. Like recognizing that different individual dogs are related and are all "dogs". They're supposed to start showing that they recognize some words too. Signs during the leap are being clingy for attention and acting more babyish.
Fwiw, DS (oct 1 baby) had been very clingy the past 2 months and would cry when being out down or when I moved away from him. Just this past week he has been much less clingy and more independent. He's getting better at crawling and is happy to occupy himself exploring.

Interestingly, dd is an October 2nd baby, and I could have nearly written your second paragraph myself.

F is early September and she's just getting away from the clingy stage this last week and now she crawls every where and grabs everything. Good stuff. sometimes she's like her actual BD and other times she does things quicker. It's weird
kellrr, Do you stop feeding after he spits out? I noticed that DD does this for the first 2-3 spoons and then she eats it. I don't know if it takes her a minute to get used to the flavor, but she seems ok after a few bites.
I gave her some kiwi/apple/avocado I think the other day and she spit out the first couple bites then ate like half the jar.
We try for 15-20 minutes before giving up. He clamps his mouth shut and smacks the spoon away. I usually manage to sneak some in when he laughs or babbles, which really pisses him off. I don't want food to be a battle, especially when he loves the mesh feeder. The kid eats everything, so I know it's not a flavor thing. I will say, though, that it has provided endless comic relief:
We haven't tried pureed meat yet. DD is just finally starting to eat any puree so we haven't dabbled much in meats. DD does a great job with puffs and seems like she does a good job with "chewing". She still has no teeth so I'm not really down with giving her other chunks of stuff yet.
AHHH. H just got a call from the company he has been talking with and they are making him an offer! They called him again to make sure he was really interested. uhh yes! just send the damn offer already!!
also, I can't not watch the news or read FB anymore., I can't with all of the sad stuff

apk4 God damn leap 6. This leap is the worst..or I've forgotten how much I hated the others!
What is leap 6? I feel like there has to be some reason DS has stopped sleeping at daycare.
From wonder weeks..it's developmental and causes fussiness and more newborn behaviors.
Edit saw someone else answered! And frankly I'm not looking forward to several weeks of this stuff. I now hope she starts crawling since that appears to be a cure!

americanninjamommy, that sounds great! I know that work stresses you out and that you have a lot in your plate but I'm not gonna lie, I'm kind of inspired by you and a little jealous. I love, love, love being home with my kid as much as I am but I miss working regularly and feeling like I'm important and necessary to accomplish things. I mean, I still work but it's so sporadic that it's become kind of stagnant with no real room for growth. I don't know how much sense that all makes or why I associate these thoughts with you specifically. I think it has something to do with your kick ass negotiating skills. You're always like, here's my list of demands, make it so and they're like OK ANM, here's some money please don't leave us! That's gotta feel pretty damn good!
Wow, thank you, I'm truly flattered!! To be honest, I think a lot of the struggle I've been having is kind of what you're talking about. Feeling like I'm important and that I am able to accomplish things. With the work projects I have been doing, I didn't feel like I was being allowed to contribute any value and that frustrated the hell out of me. It felt really good when people came to me and said that the few things I had done for the larger project were really helpful and made them think about things differently. I need to be able to contribute like that and, when I had the leverage, I decided to use it to make things better for myself. I don't see myself as a strong negotiator, but when I believe in something and think I deserve something, I am totally comfortable telling someone that. It's taken me a loooooong time to get to that point, though!!

This (well, the top part) is all kinds of awesome!! Congrats to your DH!!

My boss has been busy all morning. Guise I'm going to get a fucking ulcer
Tough conversations like that always make me nervous, but think of the positives: you either get to spend more time with DD or ALL your time with DD Seriously, when I was laid off the week before my due date, I didn't even cry. It had been stressful wondering how I would make it work, and while it has sucked balls at times since then, it ended up being more than ok.

mrsbabe614, Hang in there!!! Let us know how it goes!!
Hey! I am dropping by. Super tired and have tons to do. One more work day and then vacay / Disney Wedding trip time.
LO has been super clingy and it appears to be getting better in the past couple of days.
kellrr, we totally mix BLW with giving purees. I have daycare give him baby yogurt at breakfast and the a puree later in the afternoon. Then at dinner time he gets a variety of food he feeds himself.
He has gotten so good at eating and the kid has zero teeth. Our problem is he gets angry when we don't share.
Oh and I'm pretty sure Jennifer18131 and mrsc22 had some type of pureed meat the other night. It was strange but good.

Oh this.. we do both purees and BLW
I have to look for this baby yogurt. Have not seen this
DS gets a purée for lunch at daycare and finger food for dinner. We haven't done any meat purées, just give him things like salmon and meatballs like gdf. Still no teeth. He loves grabbing finger foods and stuffing them in his mouth, but I'm not sure how much he really ends up swallowing. Just started sending a second helping of solids to daycare and I'm trying to send more chunky purées or easy finger foods.

I know I was stressing out for no reason. It was just having the conversation and all of the stress I've had lately. My boss said that they would make it work for me and so I'm going to get 1-2 extra days at home with Finley. I'm so relieved and happy because I really like being here. So I'm really excited about having more time at home. I hope it makes me a lot less stressed. Then that will also give me some time to travel with H so we can spend more time with him too. So things went really well. But I did cry like a big dumb ass. He was like you can always talk to me that's what I'm here for. I don't want you to feel like you have to be less of a mom or anything. It was really good. Everything is just peachy.

After reading the label and seeing how much sugar was in baby yogurt, I couldn't give it to DS. I went for full fat plain greek yogurt instead and DS loves it.
