We just got Emmy the sleep clock that looks like a stoplight. She has a bad habit of getting up in the middle of the night, wanting more milk or a diaper change or whatever. My hope is that "when the light is red, stay in bed" will help her break that habit. I'm guessing it will take her a while to get used to this idea. If you have an OK to wake clock or something similar, how do you handle night wakings?
I asked through her door is it green?? She would say no. Then I said oh, well I can't open the door till its green don't call my name till then, go back to bed. She was pissed the first day, but by day 2 she would sit and stare at it till it was green then call for me. I was just consistent about it and stuck to my guns. We have no issues now.

We may have to do something along those lines but put a gate up. She doesn't call for me, just sneaks into our room and does the creepy bedside stare until I wake up. I imagine it's totally going to piss her off too.

Our issue was early wake ups. The gate outside his door helped and just being consistent the first few days about waiting till it was green. He did not like it at first but after about 3 days he got the hang of it and waits for it to turn green now and loves the thing.
