Waking up for her pacifier

I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for handling 4 mo. YDD's waking up for her pacifier. Her schedule is evolving (I hate nap transitions), but looks roughly like:
7 a.m. - up for day
9 a.m. - nap #1
10 a.m. - up (sometimes it's closer to 9:45, sometimes 10:15)
12-12:30 p.m. - nap #2
1:30-2:30 p.m. - up
3:45-ish p.m. - nap #3
4:30 p.m. - up
7:00 p.m. - bed
10:30 p.m. - wake for paci
12:30 a.m. - wake for paci
anywhere in the 1-2 a.m. hour, wake once to twice more for paci
3-4 a.m. - feeding (if she seems hungry I'll feed at 2, but she usually doesn't)
5 a.m. - another pacifier wake-up
As you can imagine, the above routine is getting exhausting. That's a pretty average night; they are often worse and occasionally slightly better. I really don't think she's hungry at the earlier wakings, because she settles very easily with the pacifier and because she is growing like a weed.
So here's my problem: she falls asleep on her own in her crib from wide awake 90% of the time...with the pacifier. I don't know how to get rid of the pacifier wake-ups, which can also happen during nap time, unless I get rid of the $&*% pacifier. On the other hand, MH is terrified she'll suck her thumb (valid) and doesn't want to get rid of the pacifier. So we're at an impasse. We both agree the other has valid points and we don't know where to go.
Any way to get her to drop the paci habit without sucking her thumb at this age, or am I stuck waiting it out until she can pop it in or is old enough that I can take it away without her sucking on anything else?
