Sunday night is here meaning only a few hours until I'm back to the grind. Kids off to camp and I drive 45 miles north to work at a Nursing Home as the Activity Director.

I used to be in agricultural biotech research. I was laid off when I was 7 months pregnant with my DD and after she was born I took the first job that came along which happens to be in animal nutrition. Currently applying like crazy to try to get back into ag.
I'm a social media and web project manager for a major tech company. arbe, activity director sounds like a lot of fun!
Yes, I get to do a lot of fun stuff, plus I can bring the kids to work sometimes and call it therapeutic. DD came with me on Friday when we had a fashion show.

heartbot I work at a company that repurposes plasma into livestock milk replacers and nutritional supplements. Not my ideal job but it's a job for now!

I'm a stay at home mom. I quit my job at a church secretary when my daughter was born. Before that I did inventory. I haven't really found my calling career-wise. But for now I'm loving stay at home with my kid.

I'm an accounting manager for an insurance underwriter. I was the second employee and now we have 14!
I joke I'm also the purchasing agent, HR manager, vendor liaison...
On first glance I thought you said you were an accounting manager for an underwear insurer. I was so confused. Insurance underwriter makes so much more sense.
If anyone could do that job, it'd be @sluttybigb00bz.
I tutor students out of my basement on nights and weekends. I have students of all ages, but I specialize in standardized test prep. The rest of the time, I'm a SAHM.
I would love to become a real teacher after my kid(s) go off to school, but I'm afraid it'll be weird to start a career so late in life. Some of the veteran teachers will be younger than me. I'd also love to publish an SAT prep book or iphone app one day.

betheliz, My mom went back to school to get her teaching degree when I was in third grade (I'm the youngest) and she's about to retire in about three years. I don't think she cared about veteran teachers being younger. She found something she loved and how she could make a difference and went with it. So I say if you love it then go for it!

mrspearl do you live in Ireland? I only ask because my Irish friend says the language is slowly dying out in Ireland so if it's being taught elsewhere that's awesome!! He says they are forced to study it in school and then they immediately forget it all

No, I live in Scotland. And I teach Scottish Gaelic, not Irish Gaelic. Both are dying languages though.

That is awesome! Pardon my ignorance, I didn't even know there was Scottish Gaelic! I might be consulting you later... we were planning a trip to Ireland to visit our friends there but now we are thinking we may ask them to meet us in Scotland so I could use some expert insight! I hear you have a beautiful country.

Don't worry about it! In the UK and Ireland, if you talk about Gaelic, you are always talking about Scottish Gaelic, because here, Irish Gaelic is just called Irish, but Scottish is not the same language as Scottish Gaelic, it's the other word for Doric, which is a form of English. It's all very confusing lol
Hey ladies! I haven't been too active, just waiting on blood tests to feel better before I dive in. But you all seem like a fun bunch! Had my first betas today and they are measuring progesterone as well. FX!
In terms of work, I'm a cloud computing consultant and currently oversee delivery of projects for the federal government. I'm also on the board of directors of a diaper bank for my area, I love our mission of helping babies!
Well, I have been a SAHM since September last year. However, for the previous four years I worked as a personal banker. And I hated every second of it!! Sales sales sales... not my strongest area. I quit in order to completely focus on school (... I could have done that even while working, but I had to sell it to DH using that reasoning. My actual reason was to stay at home with DS!). I'm due to graduate May of next year with a degree in Finance. I'm not exactly sure what I want to do with it, but once I graduate I will go back to work. I better soak up all of this time with DS while I can! I will probably only have a few months with the new LO
I'm a nanny for my 2 year old nephew. It's so great I get to take DS to work with me every day. So soon I'll have 3u3 for 45 hours a week. That should be an adventure!

I sell the stuff you used to create! how cool is that! Good luck with your job search!
