So definitely feeling less crazy since talking to the pediatrician but damn I feel bad. She said to watch for signs of constipation and muscle weakness. He had the tiniest taste and it was mixed in with frozen bananas so she said not to lose sleep over it. He did sleep in his nursery the entire night!
I had a handful of fries last night and I am paying for it today. What is everyone doing for the weekend festivities?
I'm working this weekend It is financial quarter end. I have to have my numbers calculated and submitted by the end of next week. Right now I am just waiting to get my data. Come on IT - get it done! I will be in the office all day tomorrow. It will be the longest stretch that DH has been alone with LO. He has had several 4-hour + stretches, so he is ready.
We are weaning faster than I planned. I had already dropped from 4 pumps/day to 3 since I hate pumping and we have been supplementing with formula for a little more than a month now. With LO being sick this week, we have been doing a paced feeding - we split 1 feeding into 2-3 smaller feedings. I haven't had success doing this with breastfeeding, so it has been all bottle. I haven't been as diligent about pumping as I could have been, so my supply is way down. Now that LO is getting better, I am debating if I should go back to my previous 3 pumps/day schedule, reduce to 2 pumps/day and supplement a bit more, or just quit altogether. I hate pumping and am tempted to just stop, but there is a bit of guilt.
Glad LO is going to be okay songbirdsinging55! But ugh, sorry about the restitution for the fries. sjp03 You should not have to work this weekend!! I also hate pumping. Sometimes I leave work early so I can just go feed baby instead of pumping. Whether you continue or not is a pros/cons thing and I'm sure LO will be happy (and now healthy again!) either way! I've got a short day today, and I'm going to maybe sleep in tomorrow or maybe go fishing. Three-day weekend here!
sjp03 I hear you on the internal debate to drop pumps. My goal is 5x a day, but have been fitting in 4 most days. Really busy days and I only get 3. When kiddo STTN, I question myself why I keep myself up pumping instead of sleeping.
songbirdsinging55, I know the guilt feeling about the honey. I marinated chicken with a honey dijon vinaigrette. Then I gave Liam the chicken and then I couldn't sleep because I remembered like RIGHT when I went to bed that there was honey in the marinade. But it was cooked. So I think that was okay? In any case, he is fine and I won't do it again until he is over a year. I know in some Spanish cultures they used to normally give babies honey, so I think it's definitely something to be super precautionary but it doesn't mean honey=botulism. Just means there is potential. I'm glad he is fine and you should be okay now I know the new dietary restrictions are super tough to stick to, but stinks that even little cheats can cause some yucky tummy troubles. Baked fries, maybe? I'll try to think of some of my fave recipes and send them over to you if you'd like (Sorry, nutrition is my passion )
zengal, yay for an awesome sounding weekend! Hope the day blows by and you can get started!
sjp03, whatever you choose for your baby, just know that you've made it so far! almost 8 months?! Give yourself a pat on the back. The guilt is hard. I definitely still have times where I wish it worked out, but it is what it is. Happy, healthy babies are all that matters and pumping sucks.
gldnbearz, Go you for still continuing! It has been such an uphill battle and you've stuck with it so far. Be proud. Whenever you decide to stop just know you did your best.
Liam STTN last night and the night before! 8-6am bottle then back to sleep till 8 am. Of course, both H and I are so used to so little sleep we are both awake by 3 am lol. Also, the tapatalk app and the changing over of the URL is not working together. I hope they stick with tapatalk but I doubt it? I'll have to figure out the mobile. Or maybe they will eventually work on a mobile app. My posting has gone way down because I can't get to my laptop and am mainly on mobile.
We have some relatives coming down from Canada today and they are staying through to Tuesday. I'm working this evening and tomorrow, so gonna be busy. I'm going to try to stop in here, but not sure (unless the app works!)

Here's an inconsequential random: I hate what gel polish does to my nails, and I'm just talking about my toenails. I haven't had it on my fingernails for a long time. But it lasts forever and is really convenient, so I do it anyway. And then I regret it. And then I do it again. See - inconsequential random brought to you because I just peeled my gel pedicure off and destroyed my nails because I don't have time to get to the salon.
I had mild honey worry as well. We were eating s'mores at the cabin and I let Myles have a graham cracker. Later I realized they were the honey made kind. --- I'm sure it's not the same as giving him a big spoonful of raw honey. Our ancestors would probably laugh hysterically at the things we worry about.
We're going to Montana again for the 4th. It's a long drive (6 hours), but my family will be there and it's so much cooler at the cabin. It has been over 100* most of the week here, and we can only be outside in the morning. Plus, it's Myles's first 4th of July, and I want it to be special. ---- The only problem is we're making the trip again next week. We'll be there for a week that time because some friends from Boston are visiting. It will be fun, but it's a lot of time in the car for a baby.
Anyway, I hope you all have a good holiday, and I'm sorry you have to work sjp03.

sjp03-your DH will do great! Hope work goes smoothly for you! jjh1119 - thank you! I was pretty sure that my parents gave me a Mexican sweet bread with honey I was a baby so I'm sure it was just a first time mom freak out. Lol. Also baked fries next time. I seriously had Maybe 6 fries.
spiraltheory - exactly with the ancestors lol. My parents rolled their eyes when I told them. I hope the drive goes well and Myles has a special 4th!

The boss just gave everyone the day off for tomorrow but we get holiday pay! Yay! Also, DH just sent me this. WTF!!!!! Weren't we just talking about this?
gldnbearz most woman don't make it this long with pumping. Good luck with your decision.
spiraltheory I agree with the gel stain situation. I just finished baking FILs sugar free cupcakes. I've got my cheesecake baking now. Sometimes I wonder why I volunteer to host, it's work. Then I remember I can control the menu and there is plenty of space to hold everyone without being on top of everyone. I'm trying to get as much of the baking done today since tomorrow DHs cousin is having to move and he's there all day and I'm going to get there around lunch time. I'm not looking forward to helping because it's not a happy move and his cousin is having a hard time. After her husband beat cancer and being off work for almost a year the bank wasn't willing to work with them and they're losing the house.

Drive by post. Lo has been miserable the last 3 days. I decided to call the Dr. Just in case it was something more than a cold. Turns out he has an ear infection. Poor baby has been a mess. Hoping the meds kick in & he starts feeling better sooner. Especially since dh will have him on Saturday since I have a wedding. I'm slightly bummed to miss lo's first fourth but we decided he wouldn't remember it.
This week has been a drain on dh & I and we've been talking about me giving up my wedding business after this year. Just too much with Lo AND my "real" job. Lots to think about.
On the honey bit, our ped just said no Raw honey, cooked is fine.
spiraltheory, I agree about the gel nails. I got them done two weeks ago and I'm trying my best not to peel them off. I have access to the "right" stuff at work though. Just no time to actually use it.
songbirdsinging55, I have a pic very similar to that one! lol Liam prefers to try to dive off head first though.
MsNicole06, That stinks that the bank isn't willing to work with them. Especially with a true reason.
Liam's first nap was the longest he has ever had. But hasn't napped since. He is currently in his crib making noises but not crying or fussing. Waiting to see if I need to get him or if he will fall asleep. Poor H is going to have to deal with a baby who hasn't napped. Either a drive is in their future or H's going to bed super early.
ninergirl52, I'm thinking of also not doing weddings next year. Takes so much time away. Weekends are cut short, etc. If not next year, definitely the year after.
jjh1119,we're the exact opposite on naps- Baby took an almost 5 hour nap today at the sitter's. Does she ever do that on the weekend? Heck no! MsNicole06,that's too bad about the sad move. It seems so unfair! Your cheesecake could help soften the blow a little, though. A bit of yum to brighten their spirits?
zengal he hasn't napped and H is having a hard time containing him. In and out of meltdowns. Won't sleep now he's going to give him a bath and hopefully liam goes down for the night.
So I can't use tapatalk at all now! I do not like the mobile version through safari. Grrrrr. I hope this all gets straightened out soon!

Lo naps like a champ at the nanny share families house. I think the nanny has nap voodoo. I do not, so if we get over an hour each nap I call it a success!
I'm still using tapatalk too.. So A woke up this morning with a little fever, 100.7, stuffy again, and coughing had to go into work late so I could take her to the pedi. Too much wax in her ear to determine if she has an ear infection but the doctor isn't convinced because she wasn't really acting sick. The amount of Green goo coming out of her nose is concerning but the doctor saw it and wasn't concerned. I just have to do ear drops for the excessive wax and see how she does the next few days

I hate fireworks you guys... People have already started and I'm dreading my light sleeper of a son hearing them.
Also there's some crazy lonely dog in one of my neighboring houses (can't figure out which one) where he's been wailing and howling off and one all day. He really sounds nuts. At first I thought he was being tortured and was going to call the cops!
DS has been doing the weirdest thing; he keeps trying to breastfeed standing up or sitting facing me!! I'm trying to get used to the awkward positions, I mean he's kind of always had weird positions but this takes the cake! To top that off he wants to bf more because his gums hurt I guess. But there's hardly anything in my boobs lol. I guess I'll go drink that tea again because he barely takes his bottle or baby food from me now.
lovebuggies12 The fireworks started over a week ago here. I can hear them through the baby monitor some nights. It sucks, but LO has only woken up once because of them so far. I have a feeling tonight's gonna be bad though. I used to love early fireworks before I had a baby. Now I HATE them!
